is it just me ... or the nature of this question, but so much on here seems backwards looking.
i'd just like to see / hear something that doesn't sound like they wanna be like the stuff on these lists.
i always thought being into the underground or punk or whatever was about doing your own stuff & not giving a fuck about what anybody else does or what they think about it.
it doesn't matter what you missed.

not really a celibate rifles story
the one & only time feedtime supported the celibate rifles. & it was at the sydney hilton no less! (or at least the room in the basement of said establishment) not the sort of place feedtime had ever played before or would ever again. it was something like a thursday night i think & around the time of shovel, but then it coulda been cooper s i can't remember for sure. anyway. halfway through the 1st  song ricks gtr amp just fucks out & stops working . rick & the roadie spend the next song & a half trying to get the fucking thing going again but alas it's not to be ? they finish the rest of the set with just bass, drums & rick standing hands in pockets belting out his songs & standing to the side when al sings his. tom & al playing like mad men. brilliant stuff. one of my all time favourite gigs (i saw lot of 'em) i didn't bother hanging around to see the rifles  that night. nothing was ever gonna top the performance i had just seen. although i do remember looking around at the rifles crowd & them all looking very agitated. especially the singer guy who looked like he was about to cry ? as if some rough kids had gate crashed his birthday party started a food fight with his cake & are scaring all his friends.
truly a memorable night.

the rifles were an o.k. band all in all, especially the early stuff. a bit too much of that head nodding shit for my liking though.
