Listening to Lee Moses, wish there was more info about him. Dug in, and subsequently discovered that the bassist on some of the singles also plays on "Hot Stuff", "I Will Survive", Hall & Oates' "Rich Girl", two T. Rex albums and the Knight Rider theme (!)

Sure wish I could get that 2xLP reissue with the singles and all....but that 9 year old thing is like a $200+ record now. ?!

Surgery "Little Debbie" is like a top tenner single in my book.

The argument of what was an AmRep vs what wasn't an AmRep release is kinda' moot...cuz I think most of us didn't have a way to get our hands on imports. Domestic versions of all the Aussie stuff (Lube Goat//King Snake Roost//Psychos...thanks Sub Pop too!) alone has put Haze on my high horse.

The Cows. Always The Cows. Unbelievable live and the records had shit like Sugar Torch, Shaking and Witch Hunt that made me forgive all the ham and cartooniness. And live that goofy schtick was terrifying when they were firing on all cylinders.

Hammerhead. Boss Hog. Godbullies. Halo Of Flies. All still on rotation. Funny as hell watching Stu Spasm in the doc make fun of Helmets shorts. Haircut metal before metal had haircuts. Yet I still can ride with tracks like Blacktop...and Unsane's "Scattered..." is still my fave of theirs even though I like the Charlie-era singles more.

I'm one of 3 people who thought Lollipop was great. The West coast shows were some of my faves (with Chrome Cranks once and Dwarves another time). I'm sure all of Buffalo does not agree. Rich? C'mon Richie...DAWG PISS AHNA DAWG!!

The only original Melvins record I own anymore is the Night Goat single (It does help that it has a PG cover on the flip).

What am I getting at? Dunno'. AmRep: thanks for making me the man that I am. A soft in the middle age dude with a rifle and bacon fascination...and permanent hearing issues. Burp.

A: NOTHING is better than Pussy Galore. No argument. 'Cept maybe AC/DC.

B: I would buy a Blacksnakes box set too if it existed. Get Light In The Attic on the phone.

C: feedtime isn't even a band...they're a lifestyle. Transcending sound and space and time. Spurted from Gods balls.

D: Never came to say WZ was better or worse than anyone. Just love the shit up to Make Them Die...and then fugg'em. Went on to stank badly. Once upon a time they made weird skronk garbage metal that even J Hineman enjoyed. In dark times like this it shines. Glad to see someone putting up the $$$ to reissue it, whoever it may be. Maybe some 18 year old will come in and ask for it instead of the usual 'tard who wants a DeMarco record, Steely Dan or something else with CHILL guitar tones. FTW.

See we're all winners here.  It's the real world that scares me.

(Now back to listening to Swallow and Willard...and enjoying it.)

I've been watching the prices of originals jump sky high for years. I still can't fathom Rob Zombie fanboys or Nu-Metal heshers wanting to complete their WZ collection that badly to drop hundreds on that stuff...or even LIKING what they heard from 1988 and before. !?!

Shit, the first thing I dug was the Soul Crusher tape a High school friend gave me because he thought it sucked. La Sexorcisto had come out and my pals went gaga for it. I was kinda' meh on the whole thing...but Soul Crusher was so fucked up. Timing was off. Guitar sputtered. Vocals went from trademarked "YEAHHH" to boiling cat yelps. Samples that made more sense on a Rigor Mortis LP. Sabbath sounds played by glue sniffing retards.
They hated it.
I said GIVE IT HERE.

Then Psychohead reared itself. The metal Pussy Galore.  Sonic Youth and Swans damage for dirtbags that secretly loved Kiss. The further you go back its like Red Cross and surf goth heading towards garbagecan thrash rather than kid punkers going power pop. Dee-ranged.

A SHIRTOGRAPHY!?!

When I play this stuff at work...it seems like everyone digs it. Like everyone. Budget garage rockers, bay area metal kids...straightedger HC folk. Everyone. NUTSO.

Medieval are killer, and I had no idea about that reissue until Rob mentioned it. Cool story bro =  in 8th/9th grade Anthrax's 'State of Euphoria' just came out - I was a big fan and had it on tape, the preferred format of the time - my friend Dave was leaving for a train ride to NYC to visit his dad and wanted to borrow it for the ride, so I let him against my better judgement. He came back without the tape, saying he gave it to some girl he met on the train (along with some other tapes) who was also a metalhead, and in exchange got some other tapes which all happened to be New Renaissance titles. He was the type of guy who would do shit like this without even thinking anything was wrong, and it was actually ok because you knew he did it in an innocent/non-dickhead way. In retrospect, he was one of the kindest people I've ever met (later in our senior year his parents would force him to go to rehab because we were obviously "junkies" since we would drink beer and smoke weed and listen to metal in the woods on weekends - he was never the same after that, a victim of brainwashing - for real, it was scary). Anyway, I was fuming about losing a cassette of what would be one of least good Anthrax records looking back, and Dave let me pick a tape of my choice from the new pile to replace it. I picked one with a bunch of dudes standing in a graveyard called "Medieval Kills!" - also because medieval was kinda like D&D or something so it had to be wicked. We wound up listening to that tape after school every day for at least a year and it became one of our favorite records. I wish I still had that actual tape just for sentimental reasons. I don't remember ever replacing the Anthrax tape.

A story win!
Man, I wish I could grab that tape.
I can hook you up with Anthrax cassettes...fyi.
