Early Gallon Drunk/Human Jukebox-era Scientists drummer RIP. Someone from Gallon Drunk died of liver failure...sadly, not a surprise.  :(

James Arthur - 2 nites in a row down south. (with Cuntz even)
Cuntz - especially in Oakland when they played to 6 people and bullshitted around with AC/DC song riffs. Jailbreak!
Golden Boys - with James doing really early stuff wasted at Trailer Space.
The Friday Nite at Gonerfest. (Which was a lot like up above PLUS Timmy O.)
Freak Vibe & Lysol out here.
Mummies & Gories closing out The Boogaloo fest. Magnetix too.
Life Stinks a month or so back. Intensely dark times.
Violence Creeps & Fried Hell as of like a week ago. Dan Shaw is getting to be quite a weirdo gee-tard-ist.

and yeah - I played 80% of the above shows. Don't get out much otherwise.
Would have liked to have seen Hammerhead. But noone told me they were playing. Gotta' love the Oakland unannounced house show circuit.

Echo B-Men "Crocodiles".  New to me.  As a 90s teen, I retreated to the 60s/70s and dipped in the 80s only for HC punk and mainstream rap.  Now, as a lonely middle aged fat man, I find myself wanting to hear stuff like this almost exclusively (with detours toward the circus peanut confused legend LPs Marty Feldz alludes to, sniff) and am behind the curve in knowing next steps.  Anyway, saw this LP mentioned here recently and then saw a copy (with the excised-then-restored 7" accompaniment, strange) mere hours afterward and took the leap.  My assumptions about this band were clearly off base.  I hope I'm right about U2 and can live the rest of my days continuing to hate them.  Will probably end up getting "Boy" next week.

Mitch - grab the earliest singles too. And Modern English - Mesh & Lace while yer at it.

Reissue of the week at Maximum Rock N Roll! 2001 demos LP coming soon!!

These the demos that include Pamela and You Better Think Twice, etc..? I might shit myself.
It took me 10 years to get digital versions of them that weren't encryption-glitched all to hell.
If so - color me stoked.

The real dialogue went down here. The dust settled, shittalking was over and this was the outcome.

Old guard feminists deemed sexist, ageist and more. But schooled in a polite way.

My final say: " I feel like there's merit to the ideas behind it all, but the idea of scrubbing away everything deemed harmful from just the left leaning crowd (for starters) to build some sorta' punk rock posicore-utopia is gonna' take so much work and thought and obviously 70+ pages of facebook commentary...that we'll probably be dead (entirely, as a race) before the effects can kick in. And that's just on the liberal side. THEN ya gotta' take the new found friendship flock out to the suburbs and red states and fight there...where it becomes REALLY ugly. And the 12 people left standing will have no barbs to shout. Killing with kindness is a great idea, but some fuckers have bricks.
And once the world is free of everything deemed hurtful...as great of an idea as we could hope for...what is left? Entertainment of all sorts - film, music, thought and art will be like a beige dentist office visit."

What problem do they have with a drag show, of all things? Can ya throw us a link?

What an odd time we live in. A transexual is accusing a transvestite of being transphobic. Also, RE:the minor point of "Chop Suey" being racist- Chop Suey was a "dish" that was invented in The US & just basically translates into "everything in the pot". It's "leftover soup" over rice. If anything, "Chop Suey" as a club name would mean "Any & all weirdos are welcome here".  As for any "cultural appropriation" arguments, those are all stupid, none of them are valid. None, save for that you can't have more than two white guys in your funk, reggae or blues band.

It's also a DE-fuckin-Licious donut fritter. Choose yer battles wisely.

The initial posts before the Kevin "Lemon Sesh" meltdown were pretty great. All of it's gone now and the heat has moved over to (shocking) the Child Abuse event page. Also: Same bullshit/same people stirring up aggressive censorship debates on a local Seattle dragshow. That one is super nuts to me.

I stated on FCBK to someone that the argument  FOR Cuntz had a lot of extreme older Feminist punk woman on their side. Some was well thought out (Meghan from Empty for one) and some was just attack mode (My wife!), but a lot of ladies were not having it. Whenever the fight was brought up outside the initial invite page/comment field, the oppressors would only site the cis white dudes who wanted to back the band and let them keep their shitty name and shitty show. It's sorta' terrifying that these new minds couldn't wrap around the actual strong women in the argument not finding harm in a goddamn name - albeit ill chosen and dumb, perhaps - especially since it wasn't even hurled as a threat.
Does.
Not.
Compute.

They just went back to arguing with the men, who honestly were being an easy target.

Also: now that the show is safely removed from the Seattle area proper (Tukwilla, people) there doesn't seem to be any fight on the new event page or hostility at all. Armchair justice is done. Move along to something else. Ooooohhh....a drag show at Chop Suey....

Played with them a couple weeks back.  Fucking stellar band, and easily one of the loudest I've ever seen.

I just tried to "like" this. Facebook - get out of my fucking mind!
