 Nearly two years after the release of their debut LP The Other Side of Darkness, Grave Mistake Records (US) and Taken By Surprise Records (Europe) will deliver Night Birds' second full-length, Born to Die in Suburbia on July 9th! 14 tracks of scintillating hardcore punk - refashioning the dark overtones and surfy inflections of early '80s Cali punk for a modern world on the very verge of a nervous breakdown (full tracklisting below). 

Recorded over the better part of the Winter of 2013 with Mitch Rackin at Seaside Lounge (Ted Leo & The Pharmacists, The Obits) in Brooklyn, NY, Night Birds have created a record that is distinctly more "Night Birds" than ever.  Featuring guest vocals from Eric Davidson (New Bomb Turks, The Livids) and Miranda Taylor (Hunchback, Black Wine), Born to Die in Suburbia is rife with the band's signature tales of dysfunction, despair and lamentations of a culture in rapid decline.

the Lewd "Kill Yourself" 1978 original. Sleeve in great shape, vinyl in good shape EXCEPT for a small hairline crack from the edge of the record to the label, so 3.5 inches. I initially thought this was a surface scratch, then I realized it was on both sides. I can barely hear it on my turntable, so this is still good for a copy to listen to. - $60

Music Shit / Studio recommendations in NYC area for punk / garage stuff?

The studio I have recorded at for the past 7 years or so is out of commission in NJ and my band is looking for somewhere to record our next album. We're a punk band with some surfy / garage undertones... We'd prefer to record analog and maybe mix digital... I haven't been too crazy about what I've been hearing from some other local studios so wanted to see if anyone had any recommendations... Doesn't need to be dirt cheap, but obviously affordable.
