GRAVE MISTAKE RECORDS are doing a couple new records for my band, Night Birds (surf punk from Brooklyn / nj) and are doing some promo... Alex asked us to ask around and see who would be interested in checking it out, as well as other Grave Mistake Releases. so if you do a radio show, reviews anywhere online, paper zines, any other sort of promotion just email GRAVEMISTAKERECORDS@GMAIL.COM and he will send you out some stuff... just put PROMO in the title and tell him what it is you do, where we can hear the radio show, where we can read your reviews, you get the idea... thanks.

Probably missing Culo and School Jerks tomorrow because i'm broke. real bummer.

that's the dumbest reason for not going to a show ever. if you have no money go anyways and try to sneak in or get someone to pay for you, or just ask if you can go in because you're broke. these bands aren't rockstars, they aren't going to be upset over missing the 5 dollars from one perosn. they are all down to earth people, i'm sure if you REALLY wanted to see them and they knew you honestly couldn't pay to get in they would help sneak you in or lie and say you're in the band or something. be a punk and go!

As a dude who has booked a lot of shows, you don't get in if you don't pay.
As a dude who has booked a lot of shows, you do get in if you don't pay. With a little reminder that bands need money to fill the tank...or that you can help by sweeping the floor afterwards.

That said, HPP new 7'' is definitely one of the best HC records this year already!

Holding hands and singing Kumbaya doesn't fill the gastank, hippie.

that's total bullshit. i don't know about other places, but if a band doesn't make enough money when they come to st. louis there are multiple people who will always throw down extra money out of pocket to get the band a fair amount, and are happy to do it. this has happened time and time again. just because someone doesn't have money to get in to a show doesn't mean they should have to miss out on something awesome and not be able to have any fun. also, if you are going on tour, it's usually a good idea to bring enough extra of your own money for gas just in case (OMG SHOCKER, RIGHT?!?!?). if you haven't thought that far ahead you probably shouldn't be going on tour.

If you cant afford the $5, dont come. the best is when some dick shows up with a 40 and then tells you he cant pay for the show.

After a few delays we will have our new 7", "Midnight Movies" in our hands Feb. 9th. No Way Records #50... 4 new songs, here's what the almighty Tesco Vee had to say...

"Night Birds-Like a  1981 Socal Dangerhouse Flashback hangin? ten on the Devil?s Longboard, these Clydes have been careening about my 1971 Rectilinear subs for weeks.. 2 minute bursts heavy   laden with  hard chargin? hooks, catchy choruses, and all the while  splendidly recorded , which sometimes can be the kiss o? death... but in this case this tall glass of surf tasty goes down cool and crisp... like a forgotten in the veggie crisper slushy Sprite,  on my Mojave parched and jaded musical palette..Sidesteppin? stereotypes, in a non-decade specific kinda way,  and managing to stay fresh and unpredictable on every track these Night Birds will be flyin? high at Vee manor for many revolutions per minute to come..Bravo!"

Orders will ship late next week. First bunch of orders we'll toss in a button and sticker we made very few of for the new 7"... We also have some new shirts. Check it out here and buy some junk so we can afford to come play your lovely town:

haha a "trust fund kid"... This dude has had a steady job, always since he was a youngin and we were buds when he bought those records.. He got em all off of spot when spot was selling off everything... He got the only set of acetates to DAMAGE too, but i traded him a Cough Cool for those.

Do people really care where others get their money? Its no one busniness. An asshole is an asshole, and good folks are good folks.
