I was playing in a pop punk band, and this old guy came to a bunch of our shows... one day i was wearing a Worst tee shirt, and he told me he knew of them, and had seen them a few times... Explained how he used to do a zine and people would send in records for review. I asked him if he had records for sale, and he told me he'd get in touch when he was ready to sell.
A few weeks later i was looking around on this pop punk message board and checked out the for sale section... Saw the same guy was selling a box of records that was kicking around in his closet. I read through the list and it was lots of modern pop punk junk, but then i see a project X 7"... i thought it would have been odd if it was the re issue, and knowing the guy started going to shows in 76 assumed maybe for some reason he ended up with a copy. I got in touch with him and arranged a meet up. Because of the message board that it was, no one else was at all interested.
I got there and he explained how he was mailed the PX w/ zine to review, and had never even took it out of the plastic. I ask him if he had other stuff aside from what was on the list, and he said he did but didnt think any of it was good, or anyone would care... I end up purchasing, among a bunch more...

and like 10 tapes, some old NJ demos and some maxwels and CBs tapes off the boards of 2 Misfits sets, Replacements set, 2 Underdog sets, Big Black set.
He told me to give him some insanely low price, and I gave him like 4 times what he asked, explaining that a lot of the stuff was fairly valuable... he said he did not care since he at gotten it so cheap, or free, and was just glad to see someone giving it a good home.
I've had 4 or 5 good scores, this was prob the best
