I know this has been talked about on here before, but for those of you who put on shows:  what do you think is the best way nowadays to get the word out?   Do any of you guys still print and hang physical fliers around town or is it all over the internet?

Most of what I do is just through the internet.  I have a mailing list through email, a facebook account that I create "events" through, a myspace account, and a twitter account.  What are good ways to increase the number of people on my mailing list?  How do I get more friends on facebook?

Can people recommend other message boards that are good to advertise on?  (specifically for NYC shows)...  Show listing sites or other blogs I should contact?   Who is the press should I make sure to tell? 

Just trying to brainstorm here to make sure I get as many people as possible to come out for shows I put on.... any ideas would be appreciated.  Thanks!!
