I've always hated Joe Thornton and obviously Dany Heatley is a piece of shit. Just wanted to say that. Pretty excited for this series to start.

MAH MAN SPEAKS THE TRUTH!!!! DOWN WITH MANSLAUGHTERERS!!!

Great game 7, I'm happy for San Jose. With two of the least clutch teams in the West final, it will be a series of bloopers and blunders, with Vancouver fumbling out a 7 game series win.

Melvins - The Making Love Demos
Southern Death Cult - s/t LP
EPMD - Strictly Business
Schoolly D - Am I Black Enough For You?
Jeff Phelps - Magnetic Eyes
ECSR - Demon's Demands/I'm Guilty

All great except the SDC record, which has 3 OK songs on it...

Great series, never been happier to eat my words....Crawford caught a bad break on that OT goal because it tipped off Campoli's stick, but he was the best player in that one for sure....Nashville next!

If Vancouver loses to Chicago (again), they're pretty much the Hartford Whalers of the late 80's/early 90's  and will have to blow up the team and start over. Now that Schneider's injured, Luongo has to play the game of his life but history has shown he can't handle the pressure.

If you're on a budget, no way. Better to have a 30 minute transit ride from Richmond or Burnaby than drop an extra $50 a night.

For record stores I would say Scratch, Audiopile, Zulu, Red Cat, Neptoon and Dandelion are all worth checking out. For restaurants it really depends on what you are looking for although I would say Vancouver has some of the best Chinese and Japanese food in the world. And, yes, everything is really expensive here.

And whatever you do, DO NOT go into Vinyl Records unless you're looking to become enraged.

Oh yeah, sushi. There's about a thousand places but the Main St./Broadway area has a few that are pretty great.

Oh shit, here we go....and EVERYTHING is fuckin expensive in Vancouver now....although I failed to mention:

Bon's Off Broadway: 2451 Nanaimo St. - Legendary giant greasy spoon breakfest for $2.95, all day, pretty good coffee, long waits!!!

I wanna hear your pizza choices. Throw down.

Record Stores:

http://www.audiopile.com/  (Best prices for new stuff)
http://neptoon.com/blog1/ (Good for oldies)

Bars/Clubs:

Pat's Pub, 403 E. Hastings - Great old-guy bar that brews their own swill in-house, bands on weekends.
Astoria Pub, 769 E. Hastings - Everybody in the neighbourhood goes here on weekends, questionable musical content but affordable drinking (for Vancouver).
Funky Winkerbeans, 35 W. Hastings - "Punk" bar with cheap drinks. Decent if it's not too crowded.
Goody: After-hours spot that somehow hasn't been shut down yet, 800 block of East Hastings, back alley. Shows here usually suck but you can drink outside.....

Galleries:

InterUrban Gallery, 1 E. Hastings Street - Weekly installations, usually a good show two or three times a month...best spot in the city at the moment.

Gam Gallery, 115 E. Hastings - Same deal, shows are less frequent though.

Red Gate, 156 W. Hastings - etc, etc

Food:

Belgian Fries, 1885 Commercial Drive - POUTINE. RULIN IT.
Fritz, 718 Davie Street - POUTINE>>>>
4 Brothers Pizza, 1417 Commercial Drive - BY THE SLICE!!
2001 Flavors Pizza, 595 W. Pender - My fave.....

Hope that helps a bit!!
