What was his band called?  The Abandoned?  That might be it.  They're on Tailgate Party 2.  I remember thinking they were the worst band on there when I was 16, but hearing it now it's not as bad as I remembered.

Knew I'd forget something...

Homostupids - Brutal Birthday EP

I haven't heard the first single, so this one was my introduction.  6 short songs on one side and they're all over the place.  It warrants multiple listens just to figure out what's going on.  Hopefully these guys can make it up to Milwaukee sometime.

My Name is Rar Rar

I saw them play at Gilman St. in the summer of 03.  They played with the Rah Bras, Erase Errada and The Locust.  What a terrible, hipster filled show.  Extreme Elvis did hold a shit filled diaper in Justin Pearson's face and then throw it into the crowd.  That was pretty awesome.

I really wish I could have been there when Hunkel got his ass handed to him by Poortenga. That would have been hillarious.

One of you guys should fill me in on this one sometime (ya know, not on a message board).

I remember being a little kid (I'm talkin' like 4 years old or so) hanging out with my dad, hearing the Beatles and the Stones on the radio.

I think the Beatles were more appealing to me because they were more accessible.  The songs were a poppier and Lennon and McCartney had more pure singing voices than Jagger.  This formed an early allegiance with the Beatles.

I always liked the Stones though.  They were great, but always came second to me.  When Steel Wheels came out I loved that album (I was like 6 or 7).  But for whatever reason, I've never really given the Stones the attention they've deserved until recently.

They definitely stuck to rocking longer than the Beatles.  And when they were rocking, they were hitting it harder than the Beatles.

I dig the Stones a lot, but the Beatles are one of those bands that I've loved my whole life that just can't be approached.

If ya scroll upward far enough, there's pictures from a Halloween party that the drummer from Fall Out Boy was at.  He's dressed up as a toilet.  Uhh...great...yeah.

My favorite album of the year only came out on CD:

Clockcleaner - Nevermind

Other greats (CD or Vinyl):  Mission Of Burma, Mika Miko, Black Lips, Hue Blanc, Scott Walker, Government Warning

As far as singles go my tops would be:

Pink Reason and Tyvek.  From everything I've been hearing about Home Blitz, it sounds like I'd be totally into it.

Reissues: The Fix and Koro -  700 Club 7", both completely amazing...oh yeah, the Honor Role - 1982 7" too!

Rhys Chatham - various songs
V/A - New York Noise (skipping all the bad funk tracks)
V/A - Cleanse The Bacteria + bonus record
COC - Eye For An Eye + Six songs
Nice Boys - new record (kinda not so great in my opinion)
Amon Duul - Phallus Dei
Saviours - whatever their album's called (reminds me of Drunk Horse meets Bl'ast!)

Creme Soda LP (Psychedelic punk weirdness from Wisconsin '75)

Being the ultrageek that I am, I went on Slsk to look for Creme Soda last night.  I think I half did it because I figured it wouldn't be there.  One person had it and I don't remember who it was.  All I can say is it's awesome stuff.  "(I'm) Chewin' Gum" sounds completely different from the rest of the album, but it's all good.  Tuff Bananas should cover the aforementioned song.

I love this board, it always give me ideas of new stuff to hear.  If you'll excuse me, I'm going to go listen to some more Amon Duul.

Velvet Underground.  I have been switching to a different album every day, but still just sticking to the Velvets.

I think my first punk show was at the Concert Cafe in Green Bay.

-Alligator Gun
-Smoking Popes
-Withheld
-Junior High (?)

I was a huge Alligator Gun fan and they were breaking up, so we made the trip up to GB.  I think Eric Schulz was there, although I wouldn't meet him for years...Andy Junk might have been there.  I used to see him at every show before I knew him.  John Saharsky and Evan Gritzon might have been there too.  Wow, my memory's gotten fuzzy and it's only been 10 years.

To this day it is one of the most solid shows I've seen.

Whoa!  That seems like it would be really cool.  The dudes that run the barber shop are super cool guys.

But missing a Body Count cover set...I don't know.  When will I get another chance to see that.  Haha.
