What store was that?

Rushmor.  He picked a bad day to be in Milwaukee since Bullseye and Acme are both closed on Mondays.

I ran into Rob Noxious at my local record store the other night.  Hadn't met him before and I didn't even realize until later that it was him.  Looked though his stuff, found some great shit, didn't make any sort of deals with him, though he did sell my friend a Sidewalks 7".  Based offa this thread I'd be cautious dealing with him, but in the couple hours we were hanging out in the store, he was a nice dude.

Was always wondering what happened to the Metros guys.  Loved all of it then and it still holds up.  Can't say the same for other Rip Off records of the time (Wongs LP being the first that comes to mind).

I still need to grab a copy of the first LP.  Didn't even know about a second one, so this is great news.  Would love to see 'em, but I know it ain't happening.

Always thought it was odd that there was a CD version of the first LP and 7" on New Alliance.

Sounds like this will be eating up most/all of my record buying funds and I'm more than okay with that.

I really hope Shayne comes around on releasing those Bored Games songs.  That EP is possibly my favorite Kiwi record and I'd love to hear more.

They used to do a killer version of "Dare 2 B Stoopid" by Weird Al. Not sure if I ever saw a Hendrix cover. Hopefully it was "Third Stone...."

Yeah, that's the Weird Al cover.  Pretty sure they covered "Purple Haze."

Is that the Foo Fighters drummer as Iggy?  I'd see this.  Looks like an unintentional classic.

I think I saw them in Milwaukee 4 times in one year.  There was that one night where they played at The Breakfast Nook and then went over to Valhalla and played another set.  I definitely remember hearing a Weird Al cover and a Hendrix cover that night, neither of which I'd particularly want to hear, normally.  People were definitely trying to convince them to just move to Milwaukee.  Woulda been awesome until I got sick of seeing them.

You can check out tracks from the next two upcoming Savage Quality releases - The Floor Above's Bishop LP and Messrs' cassette.

http://savagequality.bandcamp.com/

Gave 'em both a listen.  Assumed I'd dig The Floor Above since I liked the demos, but I hadn't heard of Messrs.  Both sounding pretty essential.

Like pre-Unwound band Giant Henry LP. and that Husker Du double 7".
I really want that Giant Henry record too.  Dont think I'll be able to get it in my neck of the woods.  Gonna see if user: Dan Celebrity can snag me one.

I gotta see if I can figure out where to pick up a copy.  May go to Chicago on RSD.  Seems like I'd increase the chances of actually finding what I want.  That Husker Du 2x7" needs to find my hands.  The Pussy Galore record would be nice too.  Probably one or two others.

*Going nowhere.  Recording that day.  Missing the Pissed Jeans show in Madison.  Lame.

Haven't even seen the record and y'all are already bumming me out on it.  I guess the only logical thing for them to do it press up the LP separately, huh?  I'll still end up buying it because I love the band and I can't afford the FN versions.

LIVIN THA LIFE

seriously these type of kids are clowns.  couple of people have been actually killed by the "punk gang" down here over the years, quite a few friends of mine(myself included) have been in fights with em...little ratpackin motherfuckers

A friend of mine maced a group of 77's because they were beating up a kid at a show.  Somehow he didn't get away and they beat him with chains and put him in the hospital.  So ridiculous.

There's a bunch of guys here that have jackets with "Milwaukee Street Punx" embroidered into them.  It's like cartoons come to life.  I've never felt much of a physical threat from them, but I ain't hanging around to wait for it to happen either.  The collective brainwaves aren't the most active as it is, throw in a buncha booze and drugs and it's only a matter of time til stupid shit happens.

My shitty hardcore band played some show last week with this band Adjustment to Society from Olympia whose strident midget female karate chopping "singer" yelled at all of us for drinking and smoking weed and encouraged their idiot SE drones to helicopter and karate hard into anyone drinking and etc. That's literally the first time I've ever seen a band take a militant edge in 25 years of going to shows. It was hilarious as long as you weren't getting chopped in the face.

Not a great band.  Nice when we were hanging out after the show, though.  I wasn't too thrilled about the moshers slamming me into the wall either.  I stand out of the way so I can avoid that shit.  Her speech about being in it for life was so lame.  Sure, she's young and feels empowered by it.  So did a million ex-edge people.  There's no way all 4 of them will still be sXe in 5 years.

Is FSU still around?  I remember it being present in Chicago not all that long ago.

To bring it back to the initial topic, I'd just try talking with the guy who brought the shows in.  I'm sure you know how to voice a concern without coming off like a huge pussy about it.  Logic may not work though because that scene has a lot of knuckle draggers involved.  There's gotta be someone within that group of people with a brain that can talk some sense. Maybe.

Music Shit / Re: The Shirks: sometimes you can go back home again?

The Problematics stuff holds up for me.  I put it on roughly once a year and it always stands up.  All the Shirks stuff I've heard falls in line, but still manages to be its own thing.  I'm definitely looking forward to that LP.
