Nice!  Takes me back to middle/high school.  Somehow Canadians are less awkward looking in their 90's clothes.  And the second band on the playlist is Bubbles' band, which is an obvious point of interest.

Coffin Pricks - "Group Home Haircut" (https://soundcloud.com/search?q=Coffin%20Prick%2C%20Group%20Home%20Haircut)

Total bummer that this band broke up.

Already?!?

Yup. Played last show last week.

Single is real good. That radio session that's online is the closest there's gonna be to an album, but it's a good recording and most of the songs are pretty sweet.

Love that single.  One of my favorites of the year.  That last show was great, too.  Really wish they'd have stuck around for more records.

Neutral Fixation's demo is getting a lot of play around here. Even Sadie likes it! Reminds me of H-100's Distort Cleveland, on acid.

I need to track down a copy.  Good shit.

Birth Deformities 10".  Total killer.  Finally heard the Sickoids LP.  Didn't really care for them live, so I doubted the LP.  But it's great.

Great news.  I'll be all over these.  Somehow Blitz vinyl has always eluded me.

There were 2 copies of You Can't Pray A Lie sitting around a record store here for years.  Eventually I decided to scoop up the copy that was a dollar cheaper for some reason.  I remember asking what it sounded like and was told "Negative Approach on heroin."  Sold.  Great album.  Not a bad record in the bunch, but You Can't Pray A Lie will always be the favorite.

Wasn't there some talk of a L-Seven reissue a while back?

That would be awesome.  What's the going rate right now?  Probably more than I want to spend, even though I love that record.

I ran across Tod Swalla's My Space page a bunch of years ago.  I remember it being mainly about weed and listing the bands he played in.

Even though most of the bands they talk about are terrible, it's still a pretty good read.

Nobody mentioned the VS. Sebadoh 7".  Always one of my favorites.

I heard a story it was meant to be their take on hardcore.  Anyone know if that's true?

Checking out the new Deranged stuff.  Pregnancy Scares 7" is sounding pretty solid.  Criminal Code's got some good shit going on too.

Non-Music Shit / Re: "Deep web"/"Darknet"/Tor/whatever

I've never had any problems with viruses or porn in the darknet, but I'm running ubuntu and I avoided porn sites since i have no trouble finding that on the legit, above ground internet.

i have firefox which is default for tor and didnt visit any porn site that wasnt explicitly labeled as 18+, but i did browse through text indexes pretty much at random, just to see a description of what was out there.  like i said, i didnt click any of the links and the worst thing i saw was some chick with a german shepard at a place called tiki something, i just assume that the links would link you to the content you would be looking for.

honestly i think this whole "Darknet" thing is a bunch of bullshit, you wont see any site people dont want you to see, because as soon as someone links to it and it starts getting any kind of traffic the admin can just move it to another site or take it offline completely.

scary to see the amount of weapons related stuff out there, but i still think its a honeypot set up to bust idiots, do people really think the government cant circumvent the software it developed itself for the navy ten years ago?  get real.

i spent a solid 8 hours wasting my time on this deep web garbage and i doubt i will ever have a reason to go there again.  if they really crack down on downloading though it will be a damn good thing to have tor downloaded and installed, your isp could easily block their site and/or many others from downloads in the future...  but they cant block encrypted data without it having a huge impact on businesses that do so for legit security purposes.

the internet works like a car speeding down a highway, the law works like a turtle crawls.

all i am saying is simple browsing of .onion sites using tor, even without clicking links, gave my computer a virus, the first it has had in years, that completely disabled it, even upon restart.  it would not allow me to access the desktop, hard or disk drives, nothing.  ctrl-alt-delete didnt work.  no internet, just a screen demanding a $200 ransom to unlock it.

eventually i was able to access another computer and research the problem, and restart the infected computer, pressing f8 to enter safe mode and do a system restore to an earlier time, but restarting the computer a million times would not solve the problem on its own, you could unplug and plug it back it in a million times, even give it a good smack and it would still not fix the problem, so to the majority of people who this happens to, it would quite literally "break" their computer.  way it was, it took a half hour before i was back online.

My parents got that same virus recently.  They definitely didn't get it from  the deep web though.  My dad almost fell for it and spent the $200.

Music Shit / Re: Glenn Branca vs. Rhys Chatham

Tough call.  Not sure if Branca ever topped "Guitar Trio" or "Drastic Classicism".  But I find myself putting on full albums of Branca's work a lot more often than Chatham's.
