Scamdinavia is, as a whole, ridiculously expensive for alcohol, I found that out too. It all hit home when I paid something like $16 Australian dollars for a fucking beer. I nursed it like a sick kitten. But here in Berlin, I can grab a half litre beer for under one Euro, and that pleases me to no end ...
There are bars with decent prices in Scandinavia. At least in in Sweden and Denmark. I usually go to bars were you pay around 3 euros for a big beer. But its wise to ask around. Otherwise you might get surprises like above. But you must have bought some fancy imported beer i guess? 16 australian dollar is 10 euros. Thats insane. Even for scandinavian standards
Tell me about it. Norway is even worse, I almost had to cash in my superannuation fund to get drunk ... a good place to get drunk cheap? Anywhere in Poland. $6 (Australian) had me rolling about on the floor and attempting to befriend the techno-loving skinheads in some bar underneath an Electro Shock Therapy clinic.
