UK version was great, and given the track record of US remakes of UK shows sucking ass I can assume without seeing the US version, that it is truly shiteful. I have better things to do with my time. Like, troll around here aimlessly or something.

first day of euro vacation, staying at a friends in london. drank about 7 beers (tall ones), not used to beer (man, liquor is kinda expensive here (maybe just london). woke up in the night and sleepwalked around the house hiding stuff for a hypothetical friend who committed a crime. this is gonna be weird and my head hurts. 85 pence tall cans o' cider!

Whatever you do, resist the urge to drink Tesco Lager. I drank about 9 or 10 on my first night in London, and the headache lasted almost the whole three weeks I was there. Terrible stuff. Carling is far gentler.

And yeah, alcohol is expensive in England ... oh wait, so is everything else.

I've had some to think about this, and I've found a recent a very recent Hate .... Empires of the Sun's something some shit Rule the World or something is used on every second TV spot now, and I already hated that chonky, quasi-goth self-imposed King of "Too Cool For my own Shit Hipster from Perth Horse Dick Sucking Bullshit". The Sleepy Jackson sukked it and so does every side projekt with the wiener with the haircut every mother would consider culling. Ugh.

I've been thrashing that Sweet Tooth demo I found in the Demo Tape thread and dowloaded yesterday. Killer stuff. Right now I'm reposting with the Hard On's Love is a Battlefield of Wound Hearts and a hearty bifta while my wife is out drinking. Hi there. How are you then?

Right now it?s The Neverending Story, because it?s on a commercial playing on tv and radio all the time over here. That "ah-ah-ah"?s are the worst! Guy looks great i the video though. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3khTntOxX-k

AAAAAAAAAAAHHHH.

The producer of that (ack... eeuuuuuuuuuuurgh ugh uh) film died recently, so they're playing it (and his other triumphs) ad nauseum on tv here at the moment. That theme song disturbed my childhood beyond repair. It just, did. Ugh. Oh god, I can feel my lunch already creeping upwards ... FUCK. Is this is a personal vendetta? Are you trying to ruin me? Stop it. Never, NEVER mention that song again. Ever. I don't know you but ....... damn ........ that's some cold shit. Did my mother put you up to this?

Who did that song that went like this...?

Come, m'lady
Come come, m'lady
Be my shugga-pie
[??????], behbeh

Okay, that is my final answer!

not that i know this right away off the top of my head or anything, "butterfly" by crazy town.

i think this one wins

I agree. That band makes me want to cut off my own dick, the only saving grace being that one of them was a crackhead and ended up on Celebrity Rehab. I caught a bit of it in a hotel somewhere once. He namechecked Jerry's Kids while he was lamping, I wasn't sure if wanted to laugh or cry, I think I managed both concurrently. Anyway, being addicted to crack is still no excuse for any of their output.

Simply Red gets played a lot at my work ... and I don't care if Mick Hucknall cut his teeth in the Manchester punk scene, I still get the urge to die horribly whenever I hear it. Which is, quite often.

Also, I think Tokio Hotel are repeat offenders in the 'Most Hated Song Ever' stakes ... it's almost like they want to win.

Vom Ess

Vom Essen.

I had to stop taking my brother to the supermarket when he visited here, he found the brandname VomLand too funny and I got tired of dragging him out by his ankles. Just in case anyone was interested ...

I'm thinking of switching to an iPhone now that Verizon's got 'em.  How much music does it hold?  Is it enough that I can replace the Nano?

The smallest-capacity iPhone = the largest-capacity Nano (8GB), and you can get up to 32GB iPhones.  Mine's 16GB and will hold 800-900 songs, a mix of mostly lossless CD rips and WAV files I've digitized from vinyl, and a few dozen lower-rez MP3s thrown in.  I'm no Apple catamite, but I am damned fond of the iPhone.

Not tryna derail the thread, but I'm curious if you have a recommended vinyl-digitization technique? Would love to get some of my wax suitable for portable listening. I've done a little bit of recording mixer output to Audacity (cuz it's free) but the sound is a bit out of whack. Could just be bad settings, tho'... anyways, recommendation appreciated!

How do you mean, "out of whack"? Cause I was using Audacity a little while back and had problems after a while. First 15 records or so came out fine, but then it all went to shit. I thought it was my shitty cheap USB turntable, maybe it just needs a new needle but the pitch seems to shift all over the place. Sounds like that DN song 'Beg to a Vile Nude' all the time, which is fine when it's supposed to but ... anyway.

My wife got me a Archos 3 Vision a couple years back, I think they're an English company. Nice little 8GB thing that I've loaded to the tits, the touch screen is a bit iffy but overall I love it. Only thing I find annoying is all mp3s I ripped on my old Mac won't work.

I don't change the playlist much, lately I added some Dawn of Humans, Fuck on the Beach and the download of Jay Reatard's Matador Singles, some Lightning Bolt, Warzone Womyn, Zero Boys, Extortion's Loose Screws 10". I should throw on all this Kool Keith/Dr Dooom shit I recently dug up. Nah, maybe later ...

is this the dude from freaks and geeks?

No, I think that's Lewis of Snake Run / Bloodclot Faggots / Vaginors / No Patience fame ... I think ... not sure, it's been a while since I was in Adelaide and he may have lost the rims already.

HA!  It's not Lewis, it would need a mustache or something.  It's 'the dude from freaks and geeks'.  From a new VA pop-punk band called the Halverchucks, I guess.  Just saw the tape cover in a distro update, hilarious.  Best show.

He has a moustache now? What the fu ...
