 - Lot more polished than tapes and 7" with more upfront vocals and catchy songs...the bass/drums in this thing is crazy, really good 12"

What the fuck? Am I missing something or should the Kirkwood Brothers be mentioned in the same breath as Ian Stuart?

yeah those lyrics are pretty blatantly racist no matter what way you spin it ("puking in the sink" = black culture ??) but they went to one of the most expensive catholic high schools in phoenix in the 70s so its not all too surprising

"lofi cyborg hendrix filtered through V-3 as an american hardcore band"

Goddamn.

Somebody convince them to repress the first tape. I have mp3's, just would love an solid artifact. Pissed I am missing them in Philly tonight. Hopefully they come around again soon.

it already got repressed...both the tapes are being redone as one tape from that Ukraine tape label

I'm always curious what makes someone finally turn and become outspokenly negative about a band the size of Uranium Club. Did you hear them playing in the Gap or something?

I may be a daddy-o, but I ain't hatin' on The Coneheads (the NWI band AND the Aussie SFTRI band from the 80s) just mildly pokin' fun on the cycle of bands going from obscure to popular (amongst insiders and arbiters of taste) to hyped to big timers (this varies in size-Scion Fest level and up) to playa-hated by a few to ignored by most to goofed on to forgotten and then to remembered again.

This cycle/argument is definitely real, as I'm sure you could pull out any number of examples (are Coneheads just the Expoxies of the late 2010s??), but it begins to become a bit redundant whenever people pull it out for people who dissent against popular taste (even in such a mild revolt as disliking Uranium Club). I don't know, couldn't the band just be not that good to some ? I personally find them kind of corny, but want to leave it at that and don't know why there needs to be this level of discussion (including my own post here)

Pheromoans "It Still Rankles"

been listening to it a lot this week...actually listen to it all the time. its weird cause I do not like anything else this band has released at all, but this album is so catchy and comic and idk really know what it is but its still around for cheap too !

Yesterday I walked around Milan blasting Kaleidoscope vol. 2 on my phone (headphones on, I'm not a teenager anymore) and yeah, I expect a lot from them in 2017—get on the bandwagon if you haven't already.

the 12" they're about to drop is fire

^ cool find at 1/2 priced books, found some of that nice on my return trip to the valley last week...sealed "a lot of people would like to see armand schaubroeck dead" and US press of "I am kurious oranj" for a little under $20 each...both from Eastside of course...can't imagine I will be listening to the Schaubroeck a ton but its a cool record :)

wish I could get into uranium club but half the time the lyrics are like bad beat poetry and the concepts are kind of corny (third or fourth listen you'll be skipping the unnecessary three minute spoken word track)

That's what I like about them.

The corny lyrics dont bring down the band in my opinion.  Honestly would rather get a chuckle out of them than listen to hardcore bands cry about Trump.

Like look at this cash grab garbage: https://analtrump.bandcamp.com/releases

idk why it has to be between them and a band called Anal Trump no one is obviously listening to lol...besides, its just two different ends of the cornball spectrum
