What the fuck? Am I missing something or should the Kirkwood Brothers be mentioned in the same breath as Ian Stuart?
"lofi cyborg hendrix filtered through V-3 as an american hardcore band"
Goddamn.
Somebody convince them to repress the first tape. I have mp3's, just would love an solid artifact. Pissed I am missing them in Philly tonight. Hopefully they come around again soon.
I'm always curious what makes someone finally turn and become outspokenly negative about a band the size of Uranium Club. Did you hear them playing in the Gap or something?
I may be a daddy-o, but I ain't hatin' on The Coneheads (the NWI band AND the Aussie SFTRI band from the 80s) just mildly pokin' fun on the cycle of bands going from obscure to popular (amongst insiders and arbiters of taste) to hyped to big timers (this varies in size-Scion Fest level and up) to playa-hated by a few to ignored by most to goofed on to forgotten and then to remembered again.
Yesterday I walked around Milan blasting Kaleidoscope vol. 2 on my phone (headphones on, I'm not a teenager anymore) and yeah, I expect a lot from them in 2017—get on the bandwagon if you haven't already.
V/A "Die Todliche Dosis" Lustgewinn Schallplatten 1981 $120
Bibs lp - like a more stripped down and sorrowful version of roachclip (who i also really dig). Excellent album
wish I could get into uranium club but half the time the lyrics are like bad beat poetry and the concepts are kind of corny (third or fourth listen you'll be skipping the unnecessary three minute spoken word track)
That's what I like about them.
The corny lyrics dont bring down the band in my opinion. Honestly would rather get a chuckle out of them than listen to hardcore bands cry about Trump.
Like look at this cash grab garbage: https://analtrump.bandcamp.com/releases
