Oh, yeah: someone mentioned Peter Rehberg earlier.  I'm not a big Pita fan, per se, but I love the record he did with Marcus Schmickler as R/S One, Snow Mud Rain -- just pure washes of vivid, kaleidoscopic digital noise, a real stunner.

Also recently plugged in:

Prurient's Cocaine Death is an interesting one.  He uses more synths than ever on this one.  Sounds more like goth / black-metal infused noise than anything else he's done.

The Blood Stereo disc on Bottrop Boy: pretty interesting.

The recent Emaciator LP... don't quite get the appeal.  Anyone?

Yeah that Emaciator LP doesn't really do anything for me either. Never really goes anywhere/pretty dull.

Ordering from Load rules. Ordered that Kites LP and they accidentally shipped me the Mouthus "Saw A Halo" LP instead. Then they very kindly reshipped the Kites LP. Two awesome records for the price of one!

Your roommate's stuff sounds cool (based on the description at least).  What's his project called?

G. Lucas Crane / Non-horse

Awesome! All the Non-horse stuff I've heard is killer! The Xol Mic cassette on Abandon Ship is a journey of epic proportions for sure. Excited to get some 'o that on wax.

Raccoo-oo-oon 2XLP (Awesome, mindblowing stuff!)

HNY - Mute in Dust CS (Girl from Social Junk's solo project. Reminiscent of Inca Ore's and US Girls' more musical dreamy moments, thus = good)

Drunjus - Chainmail Future CS (Endless and Woodman at their most focused, and that's a good thing)

Miami Vice - OST CS (Some throwaways here, but features a classic from Phil Collins and Jan Hammer knows how to make you get down)

"Crockett's Theme" is the single most exhilirating Krautrock record I've ever heard.  Hammer had a preternatural feel for the high-energy vibes and slick, coked-up decadence of Miami in the mid-1980s.  My favorite aspect of this song is his use of (sampled?) timbales, tom-toms, and congas, which situate the song in a Latin context, while the synths, propulsive sequencer rhythms, and blistering guitar leads drive the song headfirst into the 21st century.

As for Collins, Michael Mann used "In the Air Tonight" to stunning effect in the series.  1985 was really Phil's year, and Mann knew it: he cast him in a "comic relief" role as a sleazy, "Norwegian" hustler in one of the season's most memorable episodes.

As for Rac-oo-oooon... Mindblowing?  F'real?

While we share a common love for M Vice and Collins we part opinions on Raccoo-oo-oon. Is it still meant to be?

I joke!  Tried, but didn't make the cut

Tina, that is some serious bullshit.  You'd be the awesomest bass player in that slot yet.

and then Tina's all like "No Laura, you were the awesomest bass player in that slot!" and Laura's all like "Tina you are a doll!" and Tina's all like "And you're a sweetie!" Tis the season to be jolly!

Magic Lantern - High Beams

I listed this amongst my listened to list, but know not much about it.  Listening again now. Kinda reminds me of my Ol' Milwaukee boyz F/i (who never get talked about on this board and have connections with my own band via certain side projects you've never heard), and I think they do the space-drone thing better than Wooden Shjips (who also sound like a pussy version of F/i meets some Les Rallizes Denudes fart).  But who am I to judge?  I do approve of this Magic Lantern drone -- kinda like that "isolationist" movement ala Main versus "Space Mantra"-era (alread mentioned like a dozen times) F/i meets some acid-hippy in a straw hat.  I like it, and that's all that matters.

Way into Magic Lantern as well!  There's another 4 song jammer on Not Not Fun that is awesome.

skullflower - last shot at heaven

And speaking of Not Not Fun I got a test pressing version of what I assume is the new Skullflower record.  Is this the title of the new one?

The new Skullflower on NNF is "Taste the Blood of the Deceiver."

For those into Magic Lantern you can check out Sun Araw, one of the members tropical side project and NNF just reissued the Super Minerals cassette (2 hours long!) which is two other Magic Lantern members drone project.

They are going out bit by bit this week. Still waiting on the book though. Hope to get it early in the week.

Oh so you're posting here but you can't pick up your phone?!
