GOLDEN PELICANS - “Sit On It” t-shirt

An all-time classic

Golden Pelicans played at 529 in Atlanta. Andre 3000 was there and bought that shirt. It made me think, "How many t-shirts does he have? Where are they stored? Does he have a motorized rack that spins around like at the dry cleaners?"

what is tje David Nance? Band recordings, folk style, country, or something else?

Techno

David Trance.

It makes me think of the B side of Limp Wrist's "Facades."

Bro, you fucked up not listening to Raffi as a kid. Better than Bob Dylan

You're telling me. I heard Chuck Mangione's Feel So Good in full probably 40 times before I was old to speak.

I have been working from home with a spouse who is also working from home while we juggle an 8-month-old child, so I have been listening to lots of Raffi and Trojan Records compilations--stuff everyone can enjoy. I never listened to Raffi as a child and quite enjoy it.

I listen to music almost exclusively through Spotify. If I can't sleep I might listen to a cool record via Youtube and headphones.

I still mix and master music every once in awhile. I've had a few projects during lockdown that have helped me pay rent on our control room, but just barely enough to cover it. Going to record one or two more records in there in the coming months then call it quits.

totally excited to hear new predator and gg king LP!!!

There are a few tracks from the GG King lp here.

The digital masters have a better sound than those, but I like those versions.

Predator wasn't able to record before the lockdown began, but we are getting ready to record in the next 3-4 weeks.

Hope you like it!

It IS really nice.  Funny that bandcamp highlights/auto plays/defaults to what might be the weakest track on the record.

Bandcamp defaults to the first track, which means someone chose that track out of all of them.

The Earl is the premier venue for Atlanta punk and the staff are amazing.

Closing down the webstore. I have a kid now and I just moved, so I have no time or space for the label anymore. Had a great run, put out some awesome records, will put out a few more, just probably not on SOD, though who knows, GG King may have other ideas.

Slashed prices on everything, and have some cool Ash Ra Tempel and Celtic Frost bootleg shirts I found in a forgotten box while moving.  We've got the deals of the century goin' over at http://scavengerofdeath.storenvy.com

Thanks to everyone who ordered records, contributed music, wrote about SOD releases (even the shit-talkers), booked bands, or were nice to us. In ATL related news, a GG King lp is coming out late summer, early fall on Total Punk and a Predator LP should follow on the same label later in the year. Nag has an LP coming out on Die Slaughterhaus!

RYAN DINO - CHAPTER ONE: THE FINAL CHAPTER lp
Scavenger of Death Records, Atlanta, GA

Ryan Dinosaur, aka Ryan Bell, known for his work in GG King, Predator, Hyena, and more, has returned after a lengthy absence with a walloping full length to show for it. Chapter One: The Final Chapter is a 40-minute joyride through a wonderland of DIY songcraft that epitomizes the sound Mr. Dino has championed with his label, Scavenger of Death.

Tracked over the course of four years with a revolving door of musicians from some of the best groups out of Atlanta (GG King himself sings on two numbers), this is an immersive document, one human?s idiosyncratic vision of their place in the world. Oscillating between serious and joking, between aggression and introspection, Chapter One rambles through a wealth of punk rock influences: Kiwi-pop jangle, heavy metal worship, soot-black hardcore, and more. If you like your jams apocalyptic and otherworldly, there?s something here for you. If you think life is a joke, there?s plenty here to make you laugh. Includes lyric sheet and digital download.

First 50 copies ordered directly from the label come with a huge 22" x 34" poster. Thanks!
