To catch up, the KIDNAPPERS are a three-piece of twin-brothers Philipp (gt,vc) and Chris (gt,vc) and Netzhemd-Timo on drums and record cover. The KIDNAPPERS started in their early teens as the HIGHSCHOOL ROCKERS some highly acclaimed 45s and with quitting school just changed names into the KIDNAPPERS. After the stunning debut "Ransom Notes and Telephone Calls" they got hijacked onto legendary RIP OFF RECORDS with the "Neon Signs" album. All KIDNAPPERS records received raving reviews and they found their spot between hot dogs and their 90s heros TEENGENERATE, LOLI & THE CHONES and classic STIFF RECORDS sound. If its dutch it would be HOT POCKETS. Come on, it would be blatantly wrong to tell that there is same formula for the new album. It's ten originals recorded in Chris kitchen during the winter - it ain't LoFi! This is the loud on-the-spot punk-power pop album for a long while. The Hamburg boys hail the flag for a sound which seemed to be forgotten the last years. We talk about KING LOUIE, GENTLEMEN JESSE, KING TUFF here (Be sure having ALIEN SNATCH! records catalog - we cherry pickin? bands for that). It's a record to be filed next power pop one hit wonders, a perfect dose of NICK LOWE inspired pop songwriting and utter respect for the CHEAP TRICK knack and the DICTATORS guitar riffage. YOUR FLESH MAG AUGUST 2010 While all the new bullshit rock and roll bands mine the ?garage? quarry it?s pleasant to witness Vermillion Sands standing near the lip of it, whipping rocks at whoever comes into sight. Subverting the genre you?ll inevitably be lumped in with is not a new idea but it?s certainly one that isn?t utilized enough. This becomes even more of a coup when the genre you?ll be lumped in with is bloated with same-y sounding bands which are as half-baked as their catalogs. Immediately, VS is gripping but not in an aggressive way. They are weird, genuinely weird, spooky sounding Joe Meek-ish outcasts who likely did very poorly in their respective physical education programs. Androgynous vocals slide all over the place and do something that nobody in garage has really thought about yet?they compliment the music. Speaking of, this band has chops and not in the obnoxious power pop way, but in a way that reminds one of the Troggs or Kevin Ayers. ?Wake Me When I Die? woozily delivers right on time and although the vocals are pretty much potatoes as far as the flavor goes, they sure are filling. Look out Dwyer, these kids may have the best of the early OCS stuff down better than you ever did.(Alan Price)

Not that they are above everything else - Sir Henry Fiat (vc), Don Wanna (dr), Frank E.Male (gt), Instead Of A Hug (bs) are first class f?hrers and notorious elitists. With this brand new band our dream comes true for a guitar driven power pop band taking the best of its genre, leaving out the extra glossy magazines to strip down sing-along songs, fans put on rotation for days like us. When these kind of powerful songs are getting rarer and rarer (we don´t talk about pink dots fluffy pop), we have well known protagonists here popping up. It´s two third of the LOCOMOTIONS, whose debut album was one of the coolest garage punk platters ever came out of Sweden. On the one side it´s Loco Lopez (vocals, dynelectron) who is one of the guitar heroes in our ALIEN SNATCH! marvel set and genious songwriter of the SONS OF CYRUS and LOCOMOTIONS, on the other side we have the unstopable Martin Savage (vocals, danelectro) of the LOCOMOTIONS, BLACKS, DIXIE BUZZARDS backed from like minded Rikard Johansson (vocals, drums). This combination making you tense and jitter till you either start to fail in rock moves or get down in awe. All songs recorded live in an outstanding studio which put the guitar sound to a new level diamond brilliancy while damn loud and penetrating. The square but not trashy vocals add power and make the songs even more memorable songs. MURDER BY GUITAR has the magic like the REAL KIDS would back ROKY ERICKSON on TEENAGE HEAD songs, full of hooks and loaded with well placed hot licks! Out of control dance craze! First ever two song 45 RPM 7” on ALIEN SNATCH! The Boston trio spit out their whole record collection and a distinct dirtbag of talent and soul with two perfect simple yet more firing songs! To get a picture by following traces of Greg Cartwright musical history, you accidentally could file the songs on the adorable REIGNING SOUNDS “too much guitar” album or get reminded of the sadly missed JEWWS playing for a teenage twist party. TURPENTINE BROTHERS are real and kick those two smashers out in a breathless rush and made this a upbeat blueprint of a killer garage rock 7”. The wall of sound crushes on you like a blizzard. In all the hooky organ fuzz (Zack Brines), crude guitar and trashy percussion (Tara McManus) - its singer-guitarist Justin Hubbard raunchy darkly-reverbed shouts out vocals which make you beat the interior next to you to let the excitement out. Yeah, and on top Taras screamy backing vocals and handclaps chaos - this 45 is a knockout on yer next DJ battle! Justin and Tara began as a raw two-piece playing primal HASIL ADKINS and old-time country covers as a way to scam free drinks off of club owners. Soon Zack joined and Justin has gone on a songwriting rampage on basement blues, mid 60´s soul and proto-punk which led to the first release, the remarkable “we don´t care about your good time” album on ALIVE/BOMP. Clouded in an aura of an unearthed gem it gained outstanding reviews thru out die hard lowdown rocknroll minimalists and vintage rock revivalists. Re-release of that now considered as the outstanding punk album of 2003 by this german three-piece. “Ransom Notes and Telephone Calls” got raving reviews and fans all over the world and was ranked in many Top Ten lists that year. CD version comes with the no equally acclaimed follow-up 7” on Zaxxon Records, Canada. Both vinyl records are out of print, so finally we decided to re-release the songs remastered on this new format for all Johnny Come-Late´s and another round of world conquest of these highschool fellows. Comes with all their hits and also their mindblowing covers of LOLI & THE CHONES, TEENGENERATE and one song Brian Hermosillo (The FEVERS) once wrote for them. The KIDNAPPERS took the KIDS punk, drenched it with that undeniable power pop of the late 70s one hit wonders, those 90´s fast paced killer nippon sound and the howling of the MURDER CITY DEVILS. Non-Music Shit / KNOW CRAP! Mail Order

hey, I got mails from Jesse but somehow no more replies on my mails. I knew he was in process of moving lately again but I´d like to get ahold of him. Seems emails with "snatch" totally don´t come thru his server, they will get killed somewhere inbetween. Bummer, I know. I tried from a couple of different adresses with no luck.
