Miles out, dark, and funky. Minor wear. Plays fine.

Ken Nordine  Next! (Word Jazz) LP (Dot) VG/VG $15
Noted spoken word space age album. Minor marks on vinyl, as well as a few tiny dimples. Plays through fine, but with some surface noise. Sleeve has minor ring wear, split at top, and small name penned at top front and back.

Achim Reichel Regenballade LP (Nova) NM-/VG+ $17
Reichel is a German music legend. A member of the 60s beat group the Rattles, he went on to make some of the rockin'est krautrock. This is his 1978 "new wave" album, which sounds a bit like John Cale at the time, every now & then a bit Plastic Bertrand, but always like Reichel. Minor wear. German press.

Plastic Bertrand Ca Plane Pour Moi LP (Sire) VG+/VG $8
Classic fake punk by ex Hubble Bubble. Stain at bottom of sleeve.

Used Records For Sale/Auctions/Wantlists / Today's Special: Girl Groups
« on: September 22, 2010, 07:53:43 AM »
So yesterday was the Nancy Sinatras, which got snagged up. Today I offer you two girl group comps. Both are quality comps, good songs from standards to obscures. They are:

Dream Babies LP (EMI)
Solid stuff with some great ones here including The Girls' classic "Chico's Girl, one of Cher's first songs (as Cherilyn, and yes it is good), early Merry Clayton, as well as The Honeys, The Thrills, The Exciters, The Crystals, The Satisfactions, The Pandoras, The Victorians, and Alder Ray.

Carole King Plus LP (Emis)
Before she was known as a 70s singer-songwriter, King was one of the Brill Building's best songsmiths, turning out many a girl group classic (Up on the Roof, Loco-Motion, Chains, etc). This record features song written by King and done by The Cookies and Little Eva, as well as some singles she cut here self.

Both records are M-. Sleeves are NM-/VG+ with light wear.

It is $25 ppd in US for the pair. Canada add three bucks. Euro add twelve.

SOLD

Check back for tomorrow's special!

Folk rock prod. by Mickie Most. Promo sticker.

Weirdo 70s French psych/prog which will appeal to Magma fans. Includes booklet. (Sleeve art not depicted in video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NprcACM4I04&)

Swallow - Out of the Nest LP (Warner Bros) VG+/VG $5
Good hippie rock. White label promo copy.

The Bee Gees - Cucumber Castle LP (Atco) M-/VG+ $10
My second favorite BGs album. Great orchestral pop from 1970. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RZ7R6DyAoiQ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CynqbEwYF_0

Bee Gees - Horizontal LP (Atco) NM-/NM- $10
A very nice copy of my first favorite album by these guys. Unfortunately forever plagued by their disco period, too many people over look this early stuff: baroque pop + Kinks like mod sounds. Light wear.

Black Sabbath - Paranoid LP (WB) M-/M- $15
  Classic. 180 gram reissue.

Budgie - If I Were Brittania... LP (A&M) VG-/VG- $3
Hard rockin goodness. Plays fine but w/ noise. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=54H3EUAzpVg

Alice Cooper - Killer LP (WB) VG+/NM- $10
A good copy in a nice sleeve. Classic album.

Doc Holliday - Rides Again.... LP (A&M) M-/M- $10
Biker rock meets Southern Rock. At it's best very biker and sounding like a louder CCR. In shrink wrap.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UfvZL4qrCrg

The Fevers - A Explosao Musical dos Fevers LP (Luso) VG/VG $15
Brazilian pop rock. Early 70s but with 60s sunshine sound, even with a Hazelwood vegas pop touch. Moderate wear. Ecuador pressing.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ScKIobjK0Q&

The Fevers - The Fevers 1972 LP (Luso) VG+/VG+ $20

Magna Carta - Spotlight on... 2LP (Philips) M-/VG+ $15
Double album import retrospective of UK 60s/70s folk/rock band. Gatefold.

The McCoys - Infinite McCoys LP (Mercury) VG/VG $8
A young Rick Zehringer (soon to be Deringer) fronts the McCoys' "psych" effort. Please  note the quotations and that this is a good record. Cut corner. Moderate wear. Marks on vinyl. Plays fine.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RcCfm-n9L_Y
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z1JsFudOaWw&

John Miles - Rebel LP (London) VG+/VG+ $7
John Miles - Stranger in the City LP (London) VG+/VG+ $6

Modulos - Realidad LP (Hispa Vox) VG+/VG+ $20
V good Spanish pop psych. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x31coZj5Cvg

Roxy Music - s/t LP (Polydor) M-/M- $25

The Seven - The Song is SONG LP (Thunderbird) VG+/VG+ $12
Pop-psych

Soft Machine - Seven LP (Columbia) VG+/VG+ $10
US pressing. Writing on front cover.

Stories - s/t LP (Kama Sutra) VG+/VG+ $10
The hit was Brother Louie, but that song is not what this debut is built on. Rather this is a pretty damn enjoyable slab of 70s pop & hard rock. Been spinning this a lot this year.

Sugarloaf - Spaceship Earth LP (Liberty) NM-/M- $12
Sugarloaf nimbly drifts between hard rock/psych and 60s style pop. From 1970. Gatefold w/ printed inner sleeve.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mw9iIHaQbOU

The Troggs - Love is All Around LP (Fontana) VG+/VG+ $15
Great record, great band.

Tom Waits - Nighthawks at the Diner 2LP (Asylum) M-/VG+ $12
Live. Light ring wear.

Wavemaker - New Atlantis LP (Polydor) M-/M- $10
UK press of this prog/synth/ambient thing.

Werewolves - s/t LP (RCA) M-/VG+ $5
Seventies rock produced by Andrew Loog Oldham. The Flesh Express is a hit! Promo stamp on back.

The Yardbirds - For Your Love LP (Columbia) VG/G+ $8
Original stereo pressing and I wish it was in better condition. This one is a beater. It plays through but you'll hear noise. Sleeve has moderate ring wear. You're buying this because you want an original or you have a totally trashed sleeve and you want to upgrade, not because you are looking for a pristine cop.

Neil Young - Live at the Los Angeles Music Center LP NM-/NM- $45
Live from 1971. Great bootleg. Very light wear, conservatively graded.
