Ugly bands are the best. Who wants to see a bunch of dickholes with good looks strutting around on a stage. I want my rock with a bunch of mutant ugly aliens so when you see them you know its the only thing going for them. Makes it more honest to me.
Then I go home and come to the conclusion Im a sexy motherfucker and gods gift to women. I hear people piss and moan all the time about "music sucks now". Been hearing that since I was a wee lad and probably will so onward till someone kills me.
Now the question is if you think it is so bad why not distance yourself from it or do something you think is better and earn self satisfaction(till you may get a bad review on termbo then piss yourself over that,different offshoot though)
What I like to do is whenever i am feeling "salty" on the scene,getting grumpy that one band is a "hype" band over another,when I am feeling people don't get it or have any brains or wit....I turn on my car stereo for a day and flip through the channels to get a feel for what the true masses listen to and are exposed/subjected to....I then clap my hands in joy and raise them to the heavens and feel renewed in that no matter what shit is turned out in our tiny lil weird,punk,hc,crust,indie,etcetcetcetc world that even the worst of what I feel has been produced in our fun little town down the road from the "normies" is far far far better,artistic,worth merit,enjoyable then whats blasting outta the FM(or mainstream FM whatever).
Overall I will take say the strangeboys or teeners(local bands I hate and dog on but get along with and friends with)over anything pumping out da speakers and the top of the shitpile.Love it or leave it and be replaced by hopefully a brighter light who does something more then stink up the place.
