When I finally wrote back, I told them that I had been in a terrible car accident; I had lost my leg and would probably never walk again. I added that I had been driving with my friend Victor, who was tragically killed in the crash. I finished the message by urging my supervisors to remember my story and never drink and drive. They were nice enough to send me a letter telling me that I was in their prayers. And that's how I quit that job.
