i was just going to start a thread about this stuff. more specifically about the yazoo, mamlish, blues document, tacoma, stash, etc... labels, but this'll do.
i like the country blues, ragtime, barrelhouse, or delta blues styles a lot more than the chicago style electric blues, but there are some amazing blues/r+b/boogie records out there.
i recently got the WILLIE EGAN(s) LP on relic that features some pretty solid rockin blues on it. i'd recoommend it highly.
gospel stuff: rev. charlie jackson gets perhaps THE HIGHEST reccomendation from me. my favorite record of the last few years probably. isiah owens is really good too. as is rev. louis overstreet. casequarter is putting out a UTAH SMITH disc soon that will amaze i'm sure. his slide guitar gospel record is fantastic.
