Material is a rock and roll band from Vancouver. I'm not good at describing music, but here is what the singer/guitarist has to say:

"We are a rock and roll band that listens to sad pop music. Our biggest influences are the sound and television, but energetically we are closer to crazy horse and indie rock bands from the 2010 on. Lyrically we deal with the feelings of alienation experienced by working class people, particularly those of whom are trans or gender-nonconforming."

Our new 12" is out now on Material Products.

Music Shit / Building a synthesizer

So after having absolutely no interest in synthesizers and never having played one, also having no knowledge of electronics whatsoever, I suddenly decided six months ago that I was going to build myself a synthesizer. After a bunch of crummy builds, I have managed to construct a working modular synth. Just wondering if anybody else around here is into synth diy? Now I just have to learn how to play the bloody thing. Here's some fucking around I did today.
