Not the awesome death metal Incubus, but the whiny rockband of the same name I'd imagine?

The incredibly shitty rock band

He used to play all the time at the shit punk bar like 15-20 years ago. His big shtick move was bending a piece of metal during the set.

First 7" by ALVILDA from Paris is really good if you dig les Calamités/ The Nerves/ singing in the shower. Lyrics are brilliant too. https://aliensnatch.bandcamp.com/album/alvilda-n-gatif

Also been listening A LOT to 49 AMERICANS and I'm glad it finally crossed my path. Think the more experimental side of the Messthetics thing, which means it's exactly what I wanna hear these days.

Those 49 Americans records are great, as is The Door and the Window and related stuff. There’s some decent stories about that time in Bendles book.

New Releases For Sale/Distro Updates / Re: Material - Leather 12" out now
« on: October 23, 2019, 06:07:17 AM »
Here's what MRR has to say about the album.

MATERIAL
Leather LP
Where most bands’ debuts are more of a collection of songs, Leather is a taut, cohesive album, featuring clear ideas delivered with intent. Propulsive, melodic punk serves as the kindling to fuel the sharp, personal-yet-political lyrics. Sonically, there are elements of Revolution Summer desperation mixed with a certain GUN CLUB swagger. The whole sound retains its own distinct personality by the perfectly employed, insistent yet unobtrusive electric piano. There’s no reason this band couldn’t cross over to a wider audience. Without naming names, I can think of a few current bands getting the type of attention that MATERIAL greatly deserves. I encourage you to seek out this album.

New Releases For Sale/Distro Updates / Material - Leather 12" out now
« on: August 14, 2019, 04:53:17 PM »
Material is a rock and roll band from Vancouver. I'm not good at describing music, but here is what the singer/guitarist has to say:

"We are a rock and roll band that listens to sad pop music. Our biggest influences are the sound and television, but energetically we are closer to crazy horse and indie rock bands from the 2010 on. Lyrically we deal with the feelings of alienation experienced by working class people, particularly those of whom are trans or gender-nonconforming."

Our new 12" is out now on Material Products.
