Impact - Solo Odio LP

Really great record

Totally! I got user: Jerry Scotty to thank for it! I stayed with him in Ferrara when I was in Italy, which is also the town where Impact was from.

If anyone comes to Italy sometime you should try and catch them live! They decided to keep playing only the 1982-85 stuff and none of the 90s bullshit so they're still pretty tight live, even though the singer is not in the band anymore (decided to play drums in a dub/reggae/novelty band). They sometime borrow Mirrorism's rehearsal room (which is not the one you saw, Kevin, this one's better for tripping, it's in the middle of fields of corn and has two sofas and several Adolescents posters :P).
Impact's guitarist also plays drums in the grindcore band Death On/Off and the indie rock NZ style band the Ribs. He's constantly wearing a beat up Crass t-shirt.

Lately I've been listening to Rolling Stones and Flying Trichecos. Both pretty good.

Non-Music Shit / Re: USA to overseas mail prices jumping late-January

I figure the dollar aint worth much to aussies and euros, is this really that bad?. I've heard from a lot of euros who buy my stuff that it's sometimes cheaper to order a record from the U.S. than it is to buy in a local store.

It's true. The thing is records cost 11 $ plus shipping in the US, while in Europe it's really uncommon to find an LP at less than 12-13 €. Plus shipping to Italy around 9€ from anywhere.

Just yesterday I had to take back my request for the Rajayttajat LP from the band because I found out ordering directly from Dead Beat is cheaper. But it's mainly cause of the price of the record itself, not the cost of shipping.

Richard Herring's "The headmaster's son" is a great, funny and enlightening show for us fuckups and socially awkward people. It's almost embarrassing for me to admit how relieved I feel knowing that someone was as awkward as I was as a teenager. Problem is, in many respects I still am. I wonder if I will ever be able to squeeze some comedy out of it too.

I wouldn't mind getting a copy of Memphis Is Dead again. I traded mine several years ago as I got tired of hearing it. I have the other three and an assortment of 45s and for some reason a lot stickers, I think from Contaminated mail orders. Always a great live band. The S/T album is good, but my interest was in decline at that point and I never listened to it as much as I did the earlier albums. I'd trade the S/T for Memphis is Dead, if there are any takers.

I think it's still in print at Big Neck? I bought a copy just a couple of months ago from Don't Buy records in Europe.

Lost Sounds were one of my favourite bands when I was 18 (2004). But I was one of the many who were disappointed by the s/t album, which is weird because I love it now. It's probably their record I listen to the most.
The ones I'm more attached to are the 1+1=nothing 7" and "Black wave" which started everything for me.

I saw them live a couple of times, but missed them on the 2005 tour. A friend of mine was longsighted enough to film the show at Taun in Fidenza, Italy, which ended with a big fight between Jay and Alicja. A case of water bottles was thrown. I still have the DVD, maybe I could rip it or burn it if someone's interested.
The same friend had them over for the night that night, lots of crazy stories.

Can I just jump back in topic? There's not enough raw sewage luv for Raw Sewage Roq in these best-of's (or best-oves). Only Rob Vertigo seemed to acknowledge The Organizm's greatness. WTF, Termbo?

Honestly didn't think it was a great record. I love the guy, don't get me wrong, but this one didn't do it for me. White Load LP was superior in my opinion. Real talk.

Yeah, I figured. I didn't like it at first but then it grew on me (like a fungus), and it slowly made it to near the top of my best-of list (if I had one).

I mentioned it, along with the Human Eye live LP. Listen, if I suck anymore on the cock of The Vulgar, I might as well move to Detroit and make my bed right next to his toilet.

Also, if you read Termbo on the reg, and you ain't hip to Timmy, then go back to Stereogum and anxiously await the premiere of the new Zola Jesus video.

You should move to Detroit. I'd do it. "Unhook my leash"? More like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lvL1MSYmKus!

I'm kidding. The thing is I'm jealous because everybody seems to be digging that Richard Papiercuts LP and I just don't get it.

Great hardcore score.  I got about half of those Italian recs in a collection last year.  I particularly like the CCCP.

Yeah, I like them too. CCCP were great up until their first LP "1964-1985 Affinità e divergenze tra il compagno Togliatti e noi - del conseguimento della maggiore età".
Fun fact: the singer eventually became batshit crazy and now writes fundamentalist christian opinion pieces on the biggest right-wing italian newspaper and supports the racist party Lega Nord (Northern League).
Their soundguy (then guitarist in their '90s incarnation CSI) lives in my town and still plays music. His songs suck though. Actually I just saw a Facebook event of a lecture he's giving on "how to become him". I'm serious.

Does Breakout = Rave-Up?

i don't think it's the same guy if this is what you mean, otherwise i wouln't see the point of starting another rave-up side label of something they already do unless that this time they focus on exact repro as opposition of compiling single and unreleased/ or live track on a LP. And if that's the case i guess they would advertise it on their website just like they did with their new "Syntethic Shadows" side-label focusing on aerly Post-punk Minimal Synth stuff.

Now gotta wonder if the mastering will be so so just like the Rave Up things.

Not the same guy. I'm not completely sure, but these guys should come from the street punk-oi! scene of a certain northern small town, whereas Rave-Up was from Rome. Assuming Breakout is a side-label of Pure Punk.

if you hold the record to the light you can sometimes see the A and B in the runout groove at the end of a serial number.
Yeah, that's what I want to do everytime I play a fucking record.  Blank labels are the dumbest fucking thing ever.

Yeah I do this too because I HATE SURPRISES.

Black Randy and the Metrosquad, "Pass the dust, I think I'm Bowie"

Been listening to this since I was a teenager but for some reason I pull it out only occasionally, and it gets better every time. You're all fans, right?

Ahahah this is a nice double misunderstanding! I did think that you were joking but since it's happened to me in the past, esp. with Americans, to be taken too seriously, I just like to be clear about my jokes. 'S all good!

Since I'm already here, let me jump back in topic. This Belgian radio show broadcast one of our songs together with some weird and interesting sounds from all over the planet: http://ltgpanik.wordpress.com/2013/01/15/show272/
Unexpected and great!

fat chicks? that's not very feminist.

That's the F.C.-word, right? Bring it on, Language! I ain't afraid of ya!

No, really, you don't know me, if you did you would know how much it breaks my heart to be accused of misogyny. It was a parody! Now it's not funny anymore and I hate myself.

"If you think I'm a misogynist, you should be raped by a pack of Last Sons of Kypton!" (M. Gibson)
(I had to take away the -s from the plural cos if you write Last Sons of Kypton-S a rude word gets posted).
