Non-Music Shit / Re: returned packages from usps?
« on: March 07, 2010, 01:56:01 PM »
I work for Canada Post.
Up here, there has been a shortage of people to work the extremely less-amounts of mail coming through our depot.  Canada Post has been deleting positions as they become available, leaving us casuals (I've been in a casual position for 2.5 years) out of luck.  There is a lot of a disgruntled employees, but I don't know anyone that would purposely wreck a package (I'm not saying it hasn't been done though, I just have never seen it...).

Oh, I don't know how it works in the States, but we have post offices in malls and stores, but the people that work there ARE NOT employed by Canada Post (no good wages, benefits, etc.).  They have the Canada Post emblem and a name tag, but work for the company that the post office is in (usually a Shoppers Drug Mart).  They seem to be a lot more angry and careless with their mail handling...

And yeah, there are some nice looking people that work for the Post Office....

Nah actually Soft Pack doesn't really sound like Black Lips at all. Where the fuck does this comparison even come from? I like Soft Pack, but it's necessary to put a limit on the comparison.

Really?  You don't see ANY similarities between Soft Pack and Black Lips?  Maybe not newer Black Lips, but definitely Let It Bloom-era.
Oh well...we both like 'em....

The new SOFT PACK cd.

San Diego'ers formerly known as THE MUSLIMS.

So far, so good.

BLACK LIPS fans take note.

I tried this a few weeks back.  I wasn't overly impressed, but it did the trick (I did get drunk).

I think it was 6% alc. per 341 mL or something like that...

I'm hoping for a Canada/Finland final.  That way, nationality wise, I can't lose.

Slovaks for the bronze.

When NOMEANSNO and THE HANSON BROTHERS played here last year they were on tour with a band from Poland called POTTY UMBRELLA.  They stayed at my house and were the nicest guys.  Only one of them could speak English.  It was an interesting night.

Was anyone downtown this weekend? Sounds like it was packed full of drunks.

I was drunk in MY downtown on Friday night.

My mom is in Vancouver right now.   I think she saw Finland vs. Slovakia exhibition women's hockey.

I was just on the Bare Wires myspace site and noticed that there were two Matthew Melton releases out there; an LP and a 7".
Does anyone know where these are available to order from?

Thanks!
