Ha, not really. Over the holidays we just never got a chance to get together to talk about doing this show so we never really came to a solid decision on it. The Eli's show was a bummer though, we wanted to play it but our drummer forgot about it and went to LA that weekend. Slightly annoyed about that.

Angora Debs aren't playing. Did the Rantouls back out too?

U2 has not 1 but 2 songs that start with z. Should've known they'd be all over that business.

Phew, thanks. That's one less thing for me to be irritable about.

Non-Music Shit / Ebay Coupon

Anyone here know what the deal is with this? I read the terms of it, but I still don't understand. As a seller I'm curious, who's taking the "10% off" hit on this one: the seller (I assume) or ebay (yeah right)?

Squeeze Inn is so dead to me since I found no less than five other burgers

I hope you plan on backing up these wild allegations.

Also, I imagine that there's a rancor pit underneath this "The Hub" where you toss unsuspecting showgoers into to do battle with the infamous "Bitch At The Hub." Make it happen.

Well, ok, I guess you can come sans burgers, but I think we'd all have way more fun if surrounded by a wave of cheese skirts. And I don't know who the hell you think is gonna drink that swill. I only get Lok'd in the safety of my home.

Bring me Squeeze Inn burgers or don't come at all.

Yeah, that's right.

oh, ok! See that's already better than what I had originally heard! After I posted that I thought "crap, that probably sounds bad," but what I meant was things didn't sound like it would fair much better than it has before, but I'm rootin' for ya. I've always thought this was a good spot for shows. So cool, that's good news indeed!

Stoked on shows there.

Me too, so much actually, as I love the location and the bar is cool. But before you go booking any shows, do yourself a favor and ask about the door payout policy and drink tix stuff first, just sayin'. I think ultimately those things will be the kiss of death for this place as a venue (again. and again. and again...)

Pop Punk / Re: A Compendium of Michael Anthony Bass Solos
« on: December 13, 2010, 05:28:32 PM »
I was once in a Van Halen coverband, for 2 shows, and I can say that fulfilling the Michael Anthony duties was probably the most fun I've ever had, although my costume had me looking more like a grizzled santa claus than anyone who should be onstage in a rock band, which I guess was a pretty accurate portrayal. And it was a good excuse to drink dangerous levels of whiskey and act like a caveman. I highly recommend to everyone to find a local Van Halen coverband and audition for the Michael Anthony role, for a good time.

Paint It Black. Qualifies for both before and after I got into punk as I liked the Stones alot, and then once I got into punk that song kept popping up as a cover on other albums.

re: "Speed Kills" video..

KnobRot left a great comment: "Many of you would already know that around 500 years ago, the greatest artist of all time, Michelangelo, painted the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. What is not widely known is that he also dabbled in time machines. Behold the proof of his visit to show us how a real artist plays a guitar. Sure, he made a minor change to the spelling of his name to try to disguise himself, but I'm onto him - hell, he's still even got paint on his arms..."

What's your take on these words:

Awesome!
Killer!
Sweet!
