harlem are too fast and texan to sound like black lips and strange boys are too slow + r&b

The first time i saw the strange boys they covered the black lips. They introduced the song as "by our very good friends the black lips" and when they stayed at my house after the show continuosly mentioned how chummy they were with bls. This was in 2005 or 6?

That is pretty interesting. I will semi-retract my previous statement as I was basing my opinion predominately off of ...And Girls Club and Be Brave. Since then I have listened to the Nothing 7" and that overall sounds a bit like some of the Lips country non-album material, but still seems quite composed compared to the Lips. That is 2007. I haven't been able to find much prior to that on Strange Boys, except for a demo from 2006. I'm curious about that 2003-2006 time period, if they frequently played with each other, and the level of notoriety that separated them at that point, pre Lips signing to Vice.

Do you remember what song they covered?

Just got back from seeing it. Was not expecting a Jeff Jarrett cameo. Pretty good movie. I wish it would've been the real Riff Raff and not James Franco, but he was good though. ATL twins are CREEPS.

i found myself laughing pretty hard on several occasions throughout (mainly whenever Alien spoke) , but not many other people were. Did you laugh/did others/why weren't a lot of people?

either way, i enjoyed this movie a lot
