After years of technophobia, I'm happy to announce that the first podcast of Helter Skelter is finally online: http://del-boca-vista.blogspot.com/
We?ll try to stay up-to-date and to have a new podcast every week.

And other great news:
On the 20th of October, Helter Skelter will have GUN OUTFIT in the studio for a live-session! More on that later.

Thank you all for the input!
I tried/searched all mentioned distro's but no luck. Does someone know the link to "Recession Records"? I tried google but I couldn't find anything.
It looks like I'll have to wait for a repress or a reissue by another label to buy this damn LP.

Terminal Picnic is already sold out.
Is there any other European distro still carrying this? Or American distro if necessary?
Thanks in advance!

Here you can listen to Invasionen. http://www.myspace.com/invasionensweden.
As bland as anything else with Lyxens stamp on it. This might even be a tad worse. At least for me that can understand the lyrics. Final Exit sounds like shit http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yDUMlZskzH0&feature=related

Thanks for the input. I'll check it out at home this evening. Dennis Lyxzen has a whole other (underground) status in Belgium compared to Sweden where he's pretty famous (I guess).

On topic:
- SLICES cruising LP (Great stuff once again, more experimental compared to the 2 singles but still one of the best hc/punkbands out there right now. Them boys need to come to Europe!)
- MANIKIN stop the sirens LP (A nice surprise. Sounds great and this one might be a grower. Needs more rounds on the turntable. Noticed that they share their drumster with the Hex Dispensers.)
- GUN OUTFIT dim light LP (Gets better with every listening. Siked for their upcoming European tour!)
- THE BOB SEGER SYSTEM ramblin' gamblin' man LP (Awesome, just awesome! Dig this one better than "Mongrel" which already is a great LP.)
- THE PONYS deathbed + 4 12" (Not bad but not as good as "Turn the lights out" (their best one imo). "Pop culture" sounds killer though!)

the Refused were NEVER good

Most bands Refused main man Dennis Lyx?n been involved with sucks. From Refused, Final Exit and INC to The Lost Patrol Band and AC 4. One exception though. Lyx?n is the drummer for Instangd. Wich are great

I never cared for Refused but I love most of Dennis's other bands. AC4 and Instangd are good but nowhere as good as The Lost Patrol Band (I'm only talking about the last 2 LP's) and tINC (flawless discography imo and they were great live).
All bands bring nothing new to to the table but every time it's well executed and just in the way I like it.
Recently The Lost Patrol Band morphed into Invasionen. They already have an LP and 2 singles out. All songs in Swedish I read, but to this day I still haven't heard a single note by this band. Their records are hard to find over here allthough they are on Sony in Sweden.
Final Exit is unknown to me. Sounds like?

Does anyone know what the deal is with Wowesville Records? Closed down for good? Shit, I hope not...

Bis aufs Messer is a pretty cool store. What else is there, maybe more garage and punk focused?

Static Shock Record Shop (just opened at the end of 2009): http://www.myspace.com/500553171

Never been there though so I can't comment. Last time I was in Berlin was last August.

Can't wait for their European tour in October.
First LP is great. Picked it up due to SST's praise on this board. I still need to grab this new one and the 7" on PPM.

Okay, I see what you guys are saying about Circuit Rider.  I kinda like this song:

What an awesome song! Thanks for the tip.
Another LP to add to the "must buy"-list.

Related story:
A couple of weeks ago we were dj-ing at The Fleshtones + The Bellrays-gig. Right after The Bellrays finished their set, my friend puts on "2+2=?". The singer of The Fleshtones immediately storms from the other side of the room to our booth to thank my friend for putting up this song. His words: "This is one of my favorite records ever. Dj's never play this shit. Great job!".

And I picked up a copy of this LP last week in Boston for 7$. So fuckin' happy with it!

Random fact:
Barry Gibb's firstborn son is a metalhead. Did some time in Black Label society and Crowbar. See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steve_Gibb

Recently picked up the "Bee Gees' 1st" LP for cheap but having a hard time getting into it. Not bad but no real killers on it. Except for the song  "In my own time" which I love. The album reminds me a lot at The Moody Blues too allthough I dig that band a lot more.

Dictators-Go Girl Crazy...if you don't like this you are a)totally un-American, b)a communist, c)a faggot or possibly all of the above.  This record shows me how pointless the whole hot dog/pizza rock/party scene bullshit is.  It's already been done by experts over 25 fucking years ago, folks who knew what the fuck they were doing.  So fucking stop now.

However I'd like to slap the genius who decided to queer up the A-side with the Sonny and Cher cover.  Way to fuck up the momentum, dufus.

Your analysis is dead on! Great write-up and I couldn't agree more.

The last couple of days:

- YOUNG GOVERNOR call me when the cat dies / fade away 7"
Probably his best work to date.

- SLICES both 7"
Slept on this band for too long. Great stuff. Need that "Cruising" LP fast!

- WHITE HILLS dead LP
Quite experimental but the title track kills. They were so good live last month.

- OTIS REDDING it's not just sentimental LP
Lesser known tracks by Otis but with some real gems on it. "I'm coming home" is my jam.

Thanks. Could go for hardcore at Occii...as well as Scott H. Biram at Paradiso.

Is that place PITS still around? It was closed at one point, then back in business...think Tim Warren DJ'ed there.

I have never heard of a Pits in Amsterdam.
Do you mean The Pits in Kortrijk (Belgium)? The little & legendary bar at the corner of the street?
If so, that's roughly 250 km away from Amsterdam.
Here's their website: http://atthepits.blogspot.com/
