Concrete Asylum have been ripping it up here in Halifax for the past while, nailing the late 80's UK thrashcore sound. Their second tape Social Anxiety is actually coming out as a 7" on Bad Vibrations which should be out any day now...  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uI93sIka4Us

Saw this record yesterday, the BV guys were folding the sleeves. I listened to the tape numerous times, good stuff. If you're in Halifax, the band has their copies.

Ivan sent some back with them for me for the distro, hes just gotta send me the covers.

Kicking myself for never buying LP #2. It is the undisputed champion of hardcore. "Wizards walk by" is the sickest warzone-japanese hardcore hybrid possible. AAAGHHH

Yeah, for some reason I never bought the second lp either. Still put the first on every now and again, still painfully good.

Find myself reaching for the Johnny The Fox lp more than the others these days, but have been spinning Black Rose quite a bit too. Haven't really given FIGHTING a listen it a while, will have to do that later...

Heading down here next week and though we've got places in mind for good beer, wondering about other spots to do some digging for records, getting good food/coffee, things to see etc. Aside from Moody Lords, Strange Maine and Enterprise are there any junk shops with piles of unorganized records to dig through?

Abject Pax ? S/T 7? (SWCR-008) PRE-ORDER NOW
Next up on the Sewercide plate will be a 7" by Abject Pax, a band who's tape was not only one of the best I had heard last year but one of my favorite local releases in many years. This is vicious stuff, live and recorded, that takes cues from groups like The System, Part 1, Icons Of Filth and demonstrates the seething anger that all punk should have. This debut ep contains 5 songs (3 new,  2 rerecorded from the demo) that will certainly not disappoint those who have worn out their cassettes over the past year.

LISTEN HERE: http://abjectpax.bandcamp.com/
PRE-ORDER HERE: http://sewerciderecords.bigcartel.com/

To go along with the release, we've decided to give away one of the 8 test presses pictured above to one of the few who pre-orders the record. All you have to do is order now and wait until the record comes out in a couple weeks. Pretty simple for simple punx. I'll cut the cord on the pre-orders and contest a week before the record comes out and announce the lucky schmuck shortly after. You have your instructions.

STILL FRESH...

Dyscontrol - Lies b/w Calling Back 7" (SWCR-007)

2 new songs from Dyscontrol that take on a darker feel than those on the Mo'ai Melodies cassette. Often compared to bands such as Mission Of Burma, Husker Du, The Wipers etc. these tracks showcase more of a band living under the often gloomy skies of Nova Scotia. One time press of 300 copies. Featuring members of Bloodhouse, Horses and Career Suicide.
