Fucking 21 and over. Soul crushed. Where do I get a fake ID?

If only my parents had fucked a year earlier.  :'(

before i was 21, i'd use the "heeeyyyyyy, lemme give you a hand with that amp!" line when a band was loading in, and just walk by the door guy.  of course, depending on how early load in is, you might be killing a lot of time lurking around the band like a creep.  that was a long time ago - and in seattle, not SF - things might be different here and now.  never failed for me, though.  good luck!

i still like the hives a bunch, but i really wish they'd drop that fuzzy-synthlike sound they put on one of the guitars.  drives me up the wall.  i did think that a couple of the tunes off their last album were some of their best ever, though.  and they're definitely one of the few bands i'll put up with a big venue show to see.

you might also consider trying to get two shows in portland - a lot of the people in the NE part of town won't venture to the SE or downtown often for a show or vice-versa.  especially because of the weather here and the fact that the SE/NE buses don't run past about 12:30, so it is the kind of town where you don't have to be a huge band to have  two consecutive shows in town both pretty well attended, if the venues are far enough away...

here's a couple good NE venues:

i'm sure you already got a line on the downtown/SE ones, like the East End or Slabtown?

Yeah, maybe Eugene, but being a college town it's DEAD if you're looking at booking shows during the summer after the school term ends.  (at least from what i remember)

used to listen to it almost every night and loved it.  gave my wife weird dreams, so i gave up on it for quite a while.  the rare times that i toon in now, the topic always seems to be some diet ya gotta try... or weird weather patterns... or boring religious topics.  i never seem to catch the ufo, shadow-people or ghost stuff anymore.   some of my favorite episodes were back in the art bell days when he'd have on the backwards speech people.  and also, the haunted house ones where they'd play the weird ghost voices that'd appear on tape.

but, i gotta agree - george noory... not so good.  just comes through too dimwitted in my opinion.  almost like the host of an infomercial.  i do like ian punnett, though - he'd do the saturday shows - don't know if he still does.
