Wow. Metal as hell. Totally forgot these dudes. A middle school favorite amongst my friends and I.

i sent away for a free cassette out of the back of BMX Action and listened to it for years.  They did Gimme Gimme Shock Treatment!  Also they were the band in Wild At Heart.

i am so upset it took 22 pages for me to start reading this.  just went through the whole thing and everytime i thought i had a good one it got snatched up (Buck-o-Nine, Black Tape for  A Blue Girl, Tiltwheel, Moist, Combustible Edison, Velocity Girl...damn)

Actual shows I attended:
-Ramones /Social Distortion / Overwhelming Colorfast
-Beastie Boys / Cypress Hill / Rollins Band
-Queers / Smears / Butt Trumpet
-Beck / The Roots / Atari Teenage Riot
-1997 KROQ Weenie Roast:
Blur /The Chemical Brothers / The Cure / Echo and the Bunnymen / Foo Fighters, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones / Oasis / The Offspring / Radiohead / Reel Big Fish / Social Distortion / Squirrel Nut Zippers / Third Eye Blind / The Wallflowers...and i seem to remember Devo but they aren't listed on Wikipedia....

Unless I'm mistaken none of these bands have made an appearance yet...trying to live up to the nightmarish evenings DJ Rick and Nitrates have imagineered is getting harder but:

Trashcan Sinatras / Smoking Popes / Hagfish

Trenchmouth / Guttermouth / Possum Dixon

Huntingtons / Lords of the Underground / Swervedriver / Trusty

Chisel / Redhead Kingpin / Faith No More

8 Bark / Front 242 / N2Deep

I want to throw Sisters of Mercy, Vandals and Ziggy Marley in there somewhere but they don't seem strictly 90s enough....so they should play their own show together.

East bay 96... that guy from the Parasites and larry Livermore and Jux really got spoiled with all those young boys around all the time at gilman.

Saturday is obviously going to rule.  But I think it would be pretty dumb to miss Roy Head or Personal and the Pizzas.
53
can't say enough about Personal and the Pizzas...fucking awesome.
54
hey steve- email me and let me know what day you ordered it and from what address
55
I know of 3 out of almost 200 people who haven't received theirs yet.  If you ordered one of these before last week it was sent by last week and you should have it by now or soon.  Email me if you don't.

Listen to the Mirrors OG and the new one back to back.  The new one sounds like twice as loud and clear.  I'm no audiophile but I was pretty impressed.

Non-Music Shit / Re: Hipster: The Dead End of Western Civilization
« on: August 11, 2008, 09:33:17 PM »
I remember the first time I visited NYC I thought everyone was kinda hipsterish. Now I guess I'm one too.

I've found that most people in NYC are generally pretty nice and I experienced much more condescension in WI than I do here.

Dude!
59
they arrived today.  i will be sending them out over the next couple days.  you should all have them very very soon!

thank you for your patience.
60
given the number of records they have done that i have heard, i am sure the problem you are describing has less to do with pirates than it does with the masters they were given for whatever records you are referring to.
