my favorite doowop song of all time (and phil spector's too) is 'this i swear' by the skyliners. totally sappy, but a hot jam nonetheless.

also:

-any dion and the belmonts ('where or when' is ultra-sexy)
-'tonite i fell in love' by the tokens (SO much better than that 'lion sleeps tonite' garbage)
-the earls
-little anthony and the imperials
-'could this be magic' by the dubs
-'stormy weather' by the spaniels

i work in a thrift store and just found a box of old mixtapes somebody donated. they're the kind where they went all out and cut out words and pictures from magazines and taped them all over the cassette/case/songlist. it's mostly 90s alt/grunge junk, but then there's some weirdly unexpected stuff thrown in like snoop doggy dogg and the clash?? and who knows what's on the unmarked ones...

for some odd reason i couldn't bear to throw them away and they're sitting in the box they were donated in at the foot of my bed.
