Cities / Re: Detroit(and surrounding area): Record stores?
« on: April 02, 2010, 01:45:18 PM »
Car City Records is great! Went there the other day and picked up some strange records including "How to Be a Jewish Mother" and some Yugoslavian record. Good shit.

Hello Records is great, nice little small corner shop. I like the guy that works there. I've never been to Melody and Memories but I plan on it. Maybe tomorrow.

Tonight Black Lips are playing at The Magic Stick, openers are Tyvek and Box Elders.

$12 @ the door!

Should be a good show, last year black lips played at the stick and it was possibly the most packed I've ever seen it!

Cities / Detroit(and surrounding area): Record stores?

Whats your favorite record store?

I think mine is stormy, had the best selection I've seen for indie shit old and new. Found two split Jad Fair 7"s there. One with Phono-Comb and one with Teenage Fan Club.

New Releases For Sale/Distro Updates / Re: Tyvek - Skyin' LP

If any of you guys who are looking for this live in the Detroit area and haven't got it yet check out the record collector in Ferndale. They have like 3 of em, but the jackets are just plain white instead of the recycled jackets(mine was some beegees jacket). Get it cheap too, only $10.

Also for anyone who cares, Tyvek played an amazing show at The CAID last night. I love living in a city where I can see Tyvek multiple times each month! I mean shit, I'm going to see them again next tuesday when The open for The Black Lips!

If anyone has this and wants to sell it I'm willing to buy! I guess any other GG ALLINS originals I'll consider.

You should re-read your email from whoever your ordered it from. I did and it said that it was out of stock at the moment but they were going to charge me when it came. I didn't notice because it had the bill on the email too. If this is the case I would check out these guys: "AVAILABLE SOON FROM DISTRIBUTORS: REVOLVER USA, MIDHEAVEN, GONER, SLOWBOY (GERMANY), HO DISTRO (UK), PERMANENT, CRIMINAL IQ, VOLCANIC TONGUE, AND HANSON" That's from the label website. I'm sure they have it somewhere. Good Luck!

Willing to buy Half Japanese LPs or 7's. In particular "Charmed Life" "Band That Would Be King" "Loud" "Horrible" "Calling All Girls" "Greatest Hits". Any of these I would love!

Ordered my Skyin' LP from midheaven about a month ago. Turns out they were out of stock. Luckily I found it the old fashion way at Stormy Records in Dearborn, MI.

Theses songs are definitely four track recordings. Very lofi quality.  It's not terrible though, a lot of these songs are catchy and good and plus a handful of em' are tyvek classics. If you are a tyvek fan I would reccommend this, if you are the casual listener it's not very essential to have. One cool thing about this record though is that you feel like your at a Tyvek practice sitting in the corner just passing the time. I like to pretend I am anyways!

Anyone have Henry's Dress "Bust Em' Green" or "Definitely Nothing"  LPs?
