Non-Music Shit / Hey Nick G! Did you see Watson on Jeopardy?!
« on: February 18, 2011, 05:30:20 PM »
I assume you can watch Jeopardy in the Great White North. Watson kicked some ass. Just reminded me of when you tried out for Jeopardy. Then I imagined partying with Watson. He would be pretty fucking awesome at a party. I'm pretty sure he's sXe as fuck though.

I guess the more I though about it, I should emphasize that it's his wide spread cuts to education that are really cheesing people off (ha ha) ... yeah, he's looking to cut $1 billion dollars from the education budget (which would affect Milwaukee County the worst...like 25% of overall funding would vanish. Great for the school district that consistently scores amongst the worst in the country.)

Also, I'm not entirely sure about this, but I believe his law to disallow the unions from negotiating on non-payroll contract issues is specifically targeted at the school teacher's union. Also, including payroll cuts amounting to about 7% of teacher's wages. (what is that? like $100/month? ha)

I feel like a jack ass talking about this stuff. I almost never follow any of it. It's just obnoxious that this Walker assface had basically done the same exact anti-worker's rights stuff in Milwaukee County as the County Executive before being elected governor. I guess you can't expect people in Price County to notice what is happening in Milwaukee.

Moreover, it's sad that a state who's motto is "forward" managed to elect a governor that is completely backwards.

Yeah, I actually heard the Ed Schultz show in the car yesterday. I don't understand you Slow Education:

"evil version of Scott Walker" ... He's always been evil. Maybe you were referring to the Walker Brothers, I dunno.

This Scott Walker is basically just a hack and slash republican. In an attempt to balance the state bugdet, he is trying to stop unions from having the right to collective bargaining on non-salary issues. That's the big problem. He's basically trying to undo laws that have been in place since the 1910s. It's getting pretty ugly.

Music Shit / Re: CITY ROCK
« on: January 03, 2011, 12:31:44 PM »
Had a pretty city rock moment on New Year's Day. Walked into the bathroom at 12 Steps and they have the radio hooked up to the light so when you turn it on, the radio comes on. Anywho, the fucking solo to Shakin' by Eddie Money kicked right into full gear as I emptied my bladder with city rock authority. Thanks Eddie, --eric

I've always had terrible luck finding that for a dollar. It burned me once after I smashed a roommates copy while I was tripping LSD. That was funny: paying $10 for the first copy I could find to replace it was not.

I would go so far as to say it could be my favorite Power Pop album. It seems possible... NEWS AT TEN is my fave rave on that one.

DP'S -- If You Know What I Mean

Thanks Paul. It's pretty good. Obviously not as good as Depressions was, but this is pretty decent stuff.

Non-Music Shit / Re: Transcending "Work"

Work is defined as the amount of energy transferred by a force acting through a distance.

I'd say I'm transcending work every second I spend on Termbo.

Myself bought me HARPO -- SMILE LP off ebay yesterday. Shit is so expensive these days. I was trying to buy "one in versailles", but that is just unreasonable on all accounts. Or the Brent Spiner CD, but who would pay more than like $3 for that?

I got this other stuff: pizza oven, wireless mouse and keyboard, brewers wall calendar, Wisconsin flag (crucial), staplegun, Packers slippers, cashews, Tbones, cheddar and colby (this shit ain't no joke), and one VIPair of sweatpants.

Also Xmas laid upon me this amazing joke. I'm not that internet-y, but I've never seen this before:

Don't make me put a aSs.

Get it? anyone? Am I just stupid for thinking that is funny?

Anyone hear that joke on NPR the other morning about all the inns being booked up in Bethlehem because the tourism industry has been booming in the past couple of years? That was also a hilarious joke. --eric
