Incredibly Strange Films.  Long live Cash Flagg.

if ya dig that you should find a copy of Sleazoid Express by Bill Landis.
I second that, an amazing book on the 42nd street grindhouses and vintage exploitation cinema in general. The chapter on audience reactions to racesploitation films like Mandingo, Goodbye Uncle Tom and Fight For Your Life is a compelling read.

Just finished Sleazoid Express. Liked it a lot, especially how Landis described the scene on the Deuce- are there any similar books?

Not as gruesome or as good as INSIDE, another great new French horrorfilm, but definitely worth a look if you're into mean spirited cinema. Films like HOSTEL or SAW are pure Disney in comparison, and not as cleverly made.

I'll get the french DVD next week!I'm so hyped to see this!!!

Them (Ills) was another really good French horrormovie.

I know that. I'm not saying that Skins weren't listening to Ska in the eigthies anymore. Even today there are Skins who don't like Oi! and just listen to Ska, Rocksteady and Northern Soul. But This is England has all that stuff about the Thatcher area, Ska, white Skins, black Skins, Renees and the National Front but no Oi!...c'mon...A part of that movie is about how the right wing absorbed the Skinhead subculture and Oi! is a huge aspect of that story- take Southall as example.....and yes, I am pedantic.

Dead Man's Shoes was better. I was really annoyed by the soundtrack. Sure Ska is ok in a film about Skins but most of the songs should have been by British, non- racist Oi! bands like the Oppressed. How can you make a "historical" movie without using the accurate music??? It's a bit like Adrien Brody in that Summer of Sam movie where he has a mowhawk and wears a The Who target t- shirt....ok it's not that stupid.

I didn't know that he played in anything worth watching besides Argento's Cat o' Nine Tails and some Italian movie called Terror Express(?). Reminds me a bit of Romero's Martin. I'll check it out, thanks for the tip.
One more reason why I?m gonna buy this movie is Ellen Umlauf who was also from Vienna- I don't know if she was pretty when she was young but seeing her in the streets was always weird because she didn?t look like an actress at all- at first sight she seemed like some crazy homeless woman in a shabby track suit. Truly a bizarre appearance! A friend of mine lived close to her when he was a kid and she used to scare him to death.

Good taste, as usual. Here's a clip of Helmut Berger (Beast with a gun) drunk and coked up on some German TV- Show.

You're not by any chance from Scandinavia since you buy region 2 dvds from Another World Entertainment? The folks who run AWE in Copenhagen are friends of mine, and AWE just released "Violence in a Women's Prison" ("Emanuelle i Kvindefaengslet") with 4 pages of inner notes, in Danish, by yours truly. Next AWE project for me is "Satan's Sadists".

No from Vienna. (I grew up near that building, Sergio Martino used as Edwig Fenechs Hotel in "The Strange Vice of Mrs Wardh")....Man, you've got a very cool job!
