"Scientific American, please."

"Yeah, right."

God, I loved that show.

I remember that American GOthic show. It's not that old, eh? Damn, some of you kids make me feel old.

I wish to the high holy elder gods someone would release ALex Winter's 'Idiot Box' on DVD. Does anyone remember this MTV skit show? Fuckin Eddie the FLying Gimp, and Lockjaw, and 'Damn These Eyes!' SOmetimes I feel like I'm the only person who watched it. That and 'Austin Stories.' Back when MTV had good shows (like early Liquid Television).

I saw some of that Hillbilly Frontline. ALso saw a bunch of the Reagan doc.

I would kill to watch some 'Sledge Hammer!'s right about now.

Watched Godard's 'Alphaville' the other night, but fell asleep near the end due to wine and pills and weed.

Eh.

Scott, what's your take on Aphex Twin?

Being surrounded by handfuls of ridiculously hot Russian chicks?

Antonin Artaud?

The above Pagans questionnaires are forgetting about "Boy Can I Dance Good", which is a cover, and is the kind that transforms and transcends into their "own song," which is part of the reason you forget it's a cover. And don't forget "Little Black Egg," which is a great cover, and "Seventh Son Wiped Out." So, the point is, "Heart of Stone" is actually one of the least of the Pagans' covers, which are uniformally fantastic. The Electric Eels version of "Jaguar Ride" will always be better because it is their song, and their song forever. And it is a great great great song. The first I ever heard from them, in fact.

The above was reissued/remastered along with some other stuff (but not that song) a couple years ago by Dischord. Check it out.

No take cuz no like or no know?

I love their first LP and EP. Early Dischordian post-punk with swing and existential but clever funny and insightful lyrics. Awareness of ZZ Top and psychedelic music. Earnest, gay, emo. Punk.

A-Frames concern: the Neu! cover which I heard once on DJ Rick's show and was totally fuckin righteous. I/We need this.

Side note: A co-worker who occasionally listens to my radio show has now become a huge A-Frames fan. He usually listens to CLutch and System of a Down and now he loves the A-Frames. There is a Satan, Jesus.
