Don't think that I've heard of One Little Indian Records but my first thought was, "Wasn't that the name of a Crass single or something??"
Interesting history, especially the Mccartney connection:

wow.   that is fucking cool.  i knew mccartney was cool, but this seems awesome.   he's gonna bankroll that label.

Music Shit / Re: EMA: The Greatest Music Of Our Time Or Any Time

she is so self conscious.  maybe one of the things that contributes to the immediate disgust reaction.
i was thinking about this(california) compared to rebecca black's friday.   they're almost equally terrible.
the sort of basic karoake inspired compositions.   but at least rebecca is oblivious to the joke.  the other one
knows she sucks, and continues on, evasively.  hence, the self consciousness.

i'm not saying that just cuz rebecca black is having fun,  she is somehow better.   ema is probably having fun too.  if that even matters.

people are trying to say its not that bad.  and i want to try to agree with that.   but. . .   i'm  still hating. . .

still hating.

i keep coming across the name apache dropout.  this has to be the third time today i've seen that name around different places and now i'm curious.   today was gonna be completely black metal but i started detouring.   nyogthablaetsz to xasthur to leviathan to ekpyrosis.    this music really takes me away.   was reading some zines and checking out other black metal bands, nothing really good discovered.    i'll just go ahead and admit that i went to ikea today with the old lady, and brought my ipod along to  insulate  myself amongst the masses.   black metal and ikea.   crowds and me.   patio furniture and candle holders.   death.

Fugazi eternally sucks, I have never made it to the five minute mark.  They are emotional stage personalities. They convey a LOT.

you convey a LOT.

Music Shit / Re: YET ANOTHER SPARKS APPRECIATION THREAD
« on: May 05, 2011, 06:53:25 AM »
i first got into sparks from the movie Valley Girl.    you may remember the scene -  stacy's boyfriend is delivering groceries on his bike, and the song Eaten by the Monster of Love is playing.   i used to own the VHS and would fast forward to the scene so i could jam the song.   didn't know anything about them at the time, and hadn't yet scored the soundtrack.   which i now possess.   such a bad ass soundtrack.    i love their career.   occasionally crossing over into mainstream or conventional success, but primarily making incredible art on their own terms.   for four decades.   hats off to the sparks.

Music Shit / Re: Worst Negative Career Gradients in Music History

negative arch should also include simply, death tolls.   Queen, Allmans,Lynard Skynard, Zepp, Metallica again.

alice in chains bassist died this week.   they are 2 out of 4, and its conceivable the other two might OD as well.   could it be a first ?

G.G. had a pretty negative arch.  although in some contexts, it might appear as "WINNING"

Metallica has to be to worst in terms of content.

MICHELOB COMMERCIAL '86.

the night has a beat of its own.

Rolling Stone has an interview with Kubric in the archives, and Stan is talking about the "recent" Michelob ads as "visual poetry".  i knew it was city.
