All I know about the beating up girls gif is it is Sammo Hung, my favourite Chinese Kung Fu actor.
He has made shitloads of films, I don't reckon I have even seen a quarter of them.
Anyway found this to get you all hard.

Non-Music Shit / Re: In need of a vacation? STEAM PUNK CRUISE
« on: December 31, 2012, 05:42:26 PM »
I went to the SteamPunk capital of New Zealand, Omaru last February.
Like the rest of the country it is small, overrated, overpriced and shut 6 days of the week.
Some very cool historical buildings, that have been saved from development because Omaru is too small and dull to interest anyone have been turned into crappy art galleries and cafes.
There are a few industrial/steampunk sculptures round the town.

I found this on YouTube  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IqVgPzpGePk
Unfortunately, it manages to make it all seem more exciting than it really is. Much like the entire South Island.

P.S. Mrs Yates is a Kiwi, and we were in Omaru to visit one of her inbred relatives.

Just got back from Hamilton Island Hamilton Island, Queensland.
Spent the 1st Christmas in at least 20 years with my brother. It was a blast.
It is was also the 1st Christmas I have ever spent with kids. My bro has 3 sprogs, who all got way better gifts than I did. The 8 year old got a Kindle!
I did get a couple of kids toys to play with, a water balloon machine?, a plastic rocket and some silly putty, all from the wife.
My brother and his wife gave me a Hamilton Island stubby holder, which will get a good work out.
Five days i the tropics was pretty cool.
My brother runs the mega expensive resort on the island. It is the place where major celebs such as Oprah and Pink stay when they are in Australia. Heaps of super rich people holiday there as it costs round $1400 a night.
Anyway, we got to eat there twice.
Lunch the first time, a pretty fancy seafood platter with the usual oysters and prawns and stuff.
2nd time was an 11 course degustation dinner, with a pre dinner amuse of caviar.
Drank a 2003 vintage Dom Perignon and some other way cool wines.
I will post the menu if  anyone is interested in that sort of thing.
As a chef, I thought this was a darn fine present, especially as I am so broke at the moment I can bearly afford a cheap steak and a glass of beer.
