Non-Music Shit / Black Flag as high fashion

$200 for a Black Flag  tee!  Makes $60 for a non cashmere  Ramones shirt seem like a bargain.
Though I  am dubious about  Japanese cashmere  lasting  long in a mosh pit.

I find a lot of books and cds, but you have to look at 500 bits of crap to find that one good one.Recently I have found stuff ranging from Lee Scratch Perry to Melvins and books like Spieglemans "In the Shadow of No Towers" and "MetaMaus" and some cool WW2 histories and biographies.
But I am in the stores at least twice a week and often leave empty handed.
And it must be three years since I scored any interesting vinyl.

Guy I know who cooks at a upmarket burger place, told me he had someone tell him they are vegan, but eat fish. Go figure!

I am also a professional cook, who happens to be married to a now ex vegetarian.
This mainly means we don't eat meat at home, which is not much of a hassle. It does mean a large percentage of the food I eat is meat free.
It also means when I do eat a big juicy tender steak (cooked to rare), it is often a treat and makes the meal much more enjoyable.

I tried not eating any pork products for a while. Basically because of the quality and production methods of most pig product. This lasted about 5 years. The breaking point was having to grill 10 trays of tasty , crispy bacon for a function.
Who can resist that much temptation?

Two live albums from the Rats
Live at the Necropolis and Plectrum Muscle.
Can't say I have listened to the latter, but Live at the Necropolis is a bit patchy, some muddy vocals, tinny guitar.Still for a double live LP, you could do worse.
I think the drummer played with The Powder Monkeys at one stage.

The Seminal Rats were another band whose recorded output never matched the killer live gigs.
They used to play the Tote heaps and always blow the roof off.

Although Adelaide is mainly know for Coopers Beer, gruesome  fucked up murders and sexual perversion, it has produced some fine music.

Harry Butler of DNA fanzine was in Hack. Most of their music was ordinary, but when they nailed it, it wasn't ordinary.

Exploding White Mice . Always guaranteed a great live show, didn't matter who was singing.

Don't forget The Hard-ons, Beast of Bourbon, The Johnnys, The Hoodoo Gurus, The Psychotic Turnbuckles.
One of the best bands from the 80s who are still going strong are the Cosmic Psychos.
Saw them a couple of weeks ago playing with Clowns, a band half their age, and they rock out twice as hard.
