And I can't recommend 'Black Tight Killers' enough: kind of a Sixites Japanese 'In Like Flint' with a trio of female assassins who utilize bubble gum and 45rpm records as weapons at different points in the film.

i was getting ready to ask if someone knew the name of that movie.  i want to check it out.

and once upon a time... was originally released as the 2hr 45min version in europe, but paramount edited it for us americans.  so we wouldn't get bored, ya know.

"Rear Window"
"Once Upon a Time in the West"  the long version, not the edited American release.

It took me almost a whole season to get into Carnivale, and that show turned out to be sooo awesome. I hope it comes back, but I dont think so.

truly a BUMMER that Carnivale got canned.  i'm almost positive that it won't come back, but i'd be all for a motion picture to wrap that series up.  when it got canned, the producer said something like "i think we've told the story well and tied it together nicely."  excuse me, producer, but did you watch the last episode?  it blew it wide open!

i think the reason it got cancelled was that the cost per episode to make it was astronomical (the most expensive in tv history, i've read).  in my opinion, it was also one of the best shows in tv history, so...

i'm glad to see it's not just yankees fans who can't stand the red sox and their fans.  that said, it's hard for me to see damon in the pinstripes and really get behind the yankees when they're just buying up talent.  don mattingly, posada, and jeter keep me there, though.

AC was a celibate, and i remember a good shaq quote about that.  no i don't, but i know one exists.  reggie white could break any one of our necks.  he also was a smoker while he played football.  i gotta give him props for that.

the rebel's "prawns" album is really great, and the leonard cohen cover got me wondering about LC, so i checked it out.  my first impression is that your take is correct.  the lyrics are the best part of what i've heard (songs from a room album).
