CD budget bins are brimming with 1990-2010 GOLD. Alotta stuff from this era wasn't issued on any other format. Dig in, buy low, and sell high. Cassette collector nerds from the mid-aughts are starting to look like financial geniuses nowadays.
I've never understood why the Effigies stuff has never been reissued. Anyone know the story behind that?
People get offended by jokes. It happens all the time.
Loop is much more of a "rock" band, given their rhythm section. Much more indebted to Krautrock, too, though they obviously ripped off Spacemen 3.
Anyone I've talked to who has seen Loop says they were great live. I've heard differing reports on S3. Probably because they took greater chances and tended to jam, whereas, as I stated above, Loop were more of a rock band, were likely taut and much more rehearsed in their approach. I'm guessing. I've never seen either.
"It's a Mad, Mad Mad, Mad World" is one of my all-time favorite movies.
