Rates is $4 media, $8 priority. International heroes get at me. LETS GET IT ON!
- West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band, Vol 2. (Reprise) - $10.00
G (radio station copy, call letter stamps on front and back, filing tag on corner, corner tear, taped bottom and ring wear) / VG (same radio station call letter stamp on label, several scratches, but little noise)
You know it, you love it, you buy it.
- Human Beinz/Mammals, Nobody But Me (Gateway) - $10.00
VG+ (slight corner wear, great!)/VG (many small scratches, but noise only during quiet moments)
The 'Beinz earliest material put out against their will by local label, Gateway. More teen-beat pud slurping than their later stuff. Unfortunately, the Mammals take up/fuck up the second side. Recently reissued on Get Back.)
- Abraham's Children, Time (Gas) - $15.00
VG+ (slight ring wear to front and back, lovely) / VG+ (handful of small scratches, none of which effect play. White label)
Great Canuck family bubblegum lite pop with some nifty harmony pop and even power pop moments. Truly under-rated and great. If you have time for Tony Burrows or Tony Hazzard, this may be for you. See favourable review in the AA Attic.
- Sparky Grinstead, Won Out (Sparlene) - $15.00
VG+ (two slightly bent corners, original Sparlene promo stamp)/NM (little to no wear on dis puppy)
Poppy, lo-fi Oakland SSW singing songs of love and big asses. Some nifty power pop flourishes and great cover of Sparky hopping a fence, most likely on the hunt for tail. See AA for mo betta' details)
- Malt Shoppe Gang, S/T (Fleetwood) - $10.00
VG (ring wear with one blue pen mark) / VG+ (several scratches, with little noise - glossy)
Weird, bloodless early 50s revival band from Revere, MA - like a Justice Sha Na Na - on the same label as the Shaggs' first single! No date, but probably very early 70s. These guys make Flash Cadillac sound like Frut. Wimp city. See AA for the straight poop)
- Frank Ianni, No Moon Night (Night Wax) - $15.00
NM (one slight corner bend) / NM (bought sealed, played twice)
Cleveland late 70s SSW private with an in-between sound, somewhere in the middle of Elektra/Asylum and late Beatles mellow yellow. Very aptly described in AA.
- Andy Zwerling, Spiders In The Night (Kama Sutra) - $10.00
VG (ring wear and slight corner wear, white promo stamp, inner sleeve intact)/NM (very little wear, glossy glossy)
The final entrant in Richard Robinson's ill-fated trinity of 70s Kama Sutra signings (Hackamore Brick and the Flamin' Groovies being the others), Andy Zwerling's lone album is great, low-key folk-psych from New York which some compare to Syd and Skip's more whimsical moments. Lenny Kaye co-produces and plays. An under-rated excellent trip.
- Joey Dee, S/T (Tomorrow) - $10.00
VG+ (ring wear, still in shrink) /VG+ (couple of light scratches, very glossy)
Mr. Peppermint Twist himself or maybe just his name getting snared in the NY tax-scam net. Ranges in sound from funk to disco to MOR. No back-story or dated listed, though it looks similar to other Tomorrow releases from the late 70s. Obscurantists Delight!
- The Leopards, Magic Still Exists (Voxx) - $25.00
SEALED
The Kansas City Slickers' come-back garage revival record with more of Dennis Pash's patented Davies-isms on display as well as one of the best caveman, bowl-cut put down songs of all time, 'Psychedelic Boy.' Still sealed. Oooga Boooga!
- Th' Cigaretz, Crawl Rite Outta My Skin (Cancer) - $30.00
VG+ (Original shrink wearing off and slight ring wear, silk-screen cover in blue) / VG+ (couple of scratches and thumb-prints - this baby is loud and there are no crackles)
K I L L E R dumb dumb bar punk from Raleigh, NC punk pioneer losers Th' Cigaretz!!! Issued in 1980, but featuring live recordings made between 1977 and 1979. ...with such winning titles as 'Fucking Up Bad,' 'Just Another Piece Of Meat' and 'Disposable Lighter (For Your Love).' Lots of vulgar between-song taunting and banter. Sub-metal guitar broadsides and tough guy posturing. To be filed between Rokker, Puke Spit & Guts and early G.G.. Necessary for your existence. Johan's got his - what are you waiting for?
