(is hip hop about anything OTHER than hooks?), but whatev's....
Steve, there's a ton of 60's pop-pysch you'd like.
You should definately get the Merry Go Round record. The Colours. The Idle Race. The Jackpots from Sweden, you like The Move right?!?? You gotta like the Move...

While we're on the subject, what Rave-Up releases are even good all the way through?
Penetrators "Kings of Basement Rock"
Los Reactors "Dead in the Suburbs"
Epicycle "Teenage Suicide"
I like Vectors "Death to Disco" alright, but nobody else seems to. Features, Nervebreakers, & Reactors are half good... Am I missing anything? What's the worst, "Village Pistols"? So many of their releases are just fucking awful, it's hard to tell.
I understand your point (especially the part about FAGGOT WOPS), but stuff like the Acid Archives and Rave-Up, to me, seems almost entirely pointless. It's less about music and more about compiling some crazy all-encompassing aural history. And I don't care about this sort of shit in the slightest. I'm not a historian or a completist. Are these songs really good? No? OK! Then it sucks. Regardless if it's hopelessly obscure or a wild private press rec birthed from an unlikely basement in British Columbia or the ref point between subsubsubgenres A/B or whatever. These labels place way too emphasis on elements of music that, uh, ain't music. It's like buying a really shitty roast beef sandwich prepared by this FUCKING RADICAL DELI OWNER!!! CHECK OUT THAT GUY'S AWESOME FACE!!! AND I RARELY SEE HIM, TOO!!! Ahem.
