It's so cold that I actually want soup.  Fuck this shit.

ballscicle

if a chimney sweep comes over ask him to sing songs from mary poppins. they love that. you could get a kitty or hamsters and cuddle for warmth. 2008 could be the year of the christmas hamster for you (although hamsters are illegal here so I might have to send a christmas guinea pig or a christmas wombat).

please tell aya vegemite is disgusting. I mean, it has the word 'mite' in it...

Whoa, it is snowing right now by the Caldecott Tunnel in East Bay.

I know, I know, it's like -30 where some of you live...but you don't understand...it hardly ever snows here. It snowed for like 3 minutes about 6 years ago in San Francisco.

I remember about 10 years ago now when I worked at Cody's it started snowing. It was around xmas and so it was packed and awful. My ingenious coworker announed to everyone it was snowing and the store cleared. It was great.
BTW - it's summer here. about 80 everyday. I love it despite the lack of tortilla chips.

bruce - i'm in perth (the end of the earth). i did fly to new zealand for 30 hours just to see a show, so I'm not adverse to flying to melbourne for mexican at some dude's house. though, are you australian and have you ever had mexican food in california? no disrespect, but your taste could be questionable...

I think reading this is my only joy foodwise. There is very little good food here despite many SE Asian restaurants (so far, the best is the Laksa at a Singapore restaurant in the mall). I'm doing the opposite of the IHEM. I don't eat anywhere ever, at least 8 times a day. They don't even have TORTILLA CHIPS here!!!!! I asked about them at the store and they pointed at DORITOS. AGH. They do however sell tortillas...some that are like pita bread and some that are made from real live corn. I made my own tortilla chips and guacamole and took them to my work xmas party. Everyone was like, oh my god...where did you get these? as if it was some sort of contraband. So far, I haven't been deported for making tortilla chips. I won't even horrify you with the 'mexican' place here, but I will say the carnitas is cooked with pineapple. Nooooooooooooooooooooooo oooooooooooooooooooooooo oooooo! When you are eating cheeseburgers this weekend, please keep me in your thoughts...

I will no longer refer to you as Andy, but as the "Jewish Jackie Robinson of bbq pork". Genius.

I'm not Andy, but I did the 100 pushup thingy and it is pretty rad.  They let you build up pretty slowly, although it gets pretty hard in the 4-5-6 weeks.  Now, I have just been continuing to do week 6 over and over again for maintenance.  I probably need to start doing something else though; like any exercise your body gets too used to it and I think the effectiveness wanes.  I'm definitely a lot stronger than I was before.

Did it make your boobs, er pecs, big?

Andy, what about something like this:http://www.crossfit.com/?
Last summer my friend joked that she joined an 'exercise cult'. That was the last I heard from her. Seriously.

Biologically speaking (typing) canaries are waaaaay funnier than mice. It's been proven. Did you ever watch Grape Ape or Jabba Jaw? I think I liked Jabba Jaw because he was the shark version of Curly from the 3 stooges. I have a picture of myself with him when I was a kid...I think it was from King's Island. I've been looking for it so I could put on display how freakishly large my head was 27 years ago. No luck yet.

In summary, your take is requested for the following: exercise cults, other cartoons you like(d), 3 stooges, honeymooners.

stay away from the safeway or trader joe's (can't remember) brick oven pizza. it made icki and i shit like there was no tomorrow...apparently it was the colon cleanse variety and/or brick oven is a euphamism for crapping.

So my computer is dying and I have to get a new motherboard (=new computer) and i've been chatting online to troubleshoot. I've done this with 3 people in 2 countries and each one of them used the phrase '...do the needful' although one said '...do the need full'.

What's your take on 'doing the needful'?

supposedly it doesn't leave a residue...which is why you don't have to take everything out usually, right? the guys who do the fumigation should be able to tell you...although it would suck if they were wrong. i'd probably put a tarp or something around the records, sort of seal them off just in case. but it would suck if I was wrong too...

Andy,

Last night at the San Pablo LANESPLITTERs, Kelsey and I saw a girl scooping up her leftover lasagna into one of these things:

I had no idea what I was looking at (it looked like she was scooping the food directly into a dog bowl..that turned into a teapot). Because Kelsey works in Berkeley, she was able to immediately tell me that it was one of the latest in eco friendly items:

The stainless steel doggy bag.

What's your take on this new eco consciousness? Wouldn't a stainless steel doggy bag be pretty damn heavy? It's 55.00!!

i'm not andy. i'm also not a geologist. but i'm pretty sure metal comes from the earth. since when is mining eco-friendly?

i hate 'eco friendly' people.
