later GG doesn't get enough "love."  that acoustic stuff where his teeth were knocked out, fuck authorithee, fuck authorithee, kill the president and senior-uh-thee...  is arguably the most obnoxious thing he did.

and his last record is great -- jesus christ, suck my fuckin' ass

i hope you go out in the street today, i hope you die in a deadly way

the nairobi sound- acoustic & electric guitar music of kenya
very good stuff on this, from the 60s and 70s.

dizzy gillespie - souled out
1970 or so.  some great, extremely funky songs, with a bunch of filler

big black - lungs (orig.)
came with some strange inserts.  i don't like big black, already sold it.

Are We Not Men? will forever be better than Duty Now, tho it is a close call...

i think duty now edges it.  if they would've included "penetration in the centerfold" we wouldn't need to have this debate..

JA - thanks for the info.  guy at a record store in france told me "fan club" was not legit but he obviously doesn't know what he talking about.  the chilton thing is mastered from vinyl but sounds fine.  the roky erikson 12" i had on fan club was sub-bootleg quality.  maybe it was a bad pressing.

Metal Urbain would be cool to have on vinyl

you can still get the out-of-print reissue of metal urbain's LES HOMMES MORTS SONT DANGEREUX lp from alternative tentacles, of all places.

a lot of rappers do that

a good one is DJ Quik in "i don't want to eat it"

he tells her to "go take a dush"

i used to have two or three cassettes worth of early demos (lost in a move) that weren't on the Hardcore CDs, or on the Recombo DNA thing.  i wonder why they didn't release that stuff, as much of it was better than what did come out on the Recombo set.

the only copy of hardcore devo vol. 1 i've seen on LP (black) was japanese.  i was walking over to buy it and some guy snatched it right out from under me.

the untitled lp from their last tour (1997) stands as the best thing they did, in my opinion.  i would also love to hear that unreleased stuff.

top 10 jazz albums. i don't know anything about jazz.

1. Cecil Taylor - Unit Structures
2. Albert Ayler - Ghosts
3. Peter Brotzmann - Machine Gun
4. Lennie Tristano - Descent into the Maelstrom
5. Archie Shepp - Mama Too Tight
6. Charles Mingus - Black Saint And The Sinner Lady
7. Roscoe Mitchell - Nonaah
8. Miles Davis - On The Corner
9. John Coltrane - Om
10. Jimmy Giuffre - Free Fall

actually, i don't know anything about music period.

i've been looking for that tristano album for a long time!  is it a double lp?

for me, live in greenwich village is far and away the best ayler record (especially if you count the 2xCD version with both volumes).
