Music Shit / Want list purity. Do reissues count?

I was having this debate with myself as there are many good reissues that are legit. With genres other then Punk I've never really cared and I'm a bit looser on lps then 45s. I wanted to see how neurotic other people are with their want list

Music Shit / what records did you "borrow" from your parents?

I pillaged my parents collection of anything related to Rock and or Roll when I was a kid.

My parents where really not cool in terms of music. My dad like Classical and folk and my mom had a bunch of Latin easy listening records. Needless to say they didn't care when all the Beatles and Stones moved into my room.

Beause in those days people gave records as gifts they had a copy of The Mothers Cruisin with Reuben and The Jets and the second Candymen record in their psyche-lite incarnation.

My mom actually bought Patti Smith Horses when it came out and I stole it before she had even opened it. What a bad seven or eight year old I was.

I know now there is a whole generation of Punks with adult kids so yeah, I'm sure some of you housed dad's Black Randy album but that seems kind of gay since ya really should be listening to stuff your parents don't like.

Pop Punk / did the 90's blow?

I was just leafing through a box of 45's and I spotted a copy of Sinker "Thoughts on Beauty" and I thought to myself that I have a fair number of records that I don't give a shit about that were given to me of this nature.

I didn't listen to the record to hear whether it actually specifically sucked but I was thinking there really was an enormous of non Punk or experimental independent releases that is just shit and isn't worth a penny. I've even seen a few stores with used bins just for that stuff.

Is it worth trying to trade or sell any of this kind of stuff? 

When all of the CDs no longer play are we actually going to have to remember a huge part of that decade's indy output as lame?

(ED: I did toss on the Sinker, it's fine)
