I was going to "ask a punk" about this, too. Never heard of the place and the internets have been no help.

From another camera angle you can see the priceless look on AC Green's face after MJ switches hands and makes the bucket. "That's ri-goddamned-diculous."

Revenge of the Nerds
The Karate Kid
Teen Wolf
Life of Brian
Commando
Clerks
The Big Lebowski
Made/Swingers

Taped Revenge of the Nerds and Karate Kid during one of the free HBO weekends the cable company had periodically in the '80s. Nerds still holds up. "Hair pie? Sank you!"

Music Shit / Re: kim fowley DEAD

Met him briefly after his performance at the Dirty Water Club in London in 2004. His portion of the show was a giant, awesome clusterfuck and he was incredibly nice when I was introduced to him. Kim had let an acquaintance of mine stay with him in Germany when the dude was trying to get settled permanently in Europe. RIP.

Music Shit / Re: Music to fall asleep to

I throw in some ear plugs and fall asleep to the screeching of my own tinnitus.

Posterior tibial tendon problems, have to wear running shoes to shows or else my feet start to hurt after 15 minutes, tinnitus, "Friday fatigue" sets in so that the only viable night for attending shows is Saturday, soul crushing hangovers from which it takes 2 days to recover. All at the tender age of 41.

If you catch a film at the Music Box, walk half-a-block north to Tango Sur and get the Bife Vesuvio. It'll be a nice primer for the all you can eat sushi at Nori.

I second Pequod's for "deep dish" pizza. It beats the hell outta Uno or Giordano's.
And is deep dish really all that good? Or is it like Chicago pride blocking peoples judgement and arteries?

Mostly Chicago pride blocking judgement. Head to Dante's if you want a NY-style pie and Pizzeria da Nella for Neapolitan pizza.

For sushi, I haven't had any great fish in Chicago. There are a few places that have all you can eat (Sushi Para shows up in web searches), but I haven't ever heard anyone recommend that place. Kai Zan doesn't have all you can eat, but they have a reasonably priced omakase that the local rags rave about.

Top of the Hancock Building for a cocktail is recommended, especially at night. Lines can get long on the weekend, so try a week night. I ate at the Publican recently and it was incredible. They focus on oysters and hog, but have plenty of other stuff on the menu. The grilled chicken was exceptional.

Hang out on Pusher Street in Christiania.

Lots of illegal shit there. Beer in Denmark is only cheap if you're from Sweden.

Just listened to the FM Knives - Useless and Modern lp. Been several years, still holds up. I've never been able to figure out what they say in the chorus of "Any Other Day" When I sing along I sing "R-U-4-8-7 (X3), I can't see in front of me" But I doubt that's what they are saying. Didn't wanna of these guys post on here at one point?

That's what they're saying, alright. The band talked about this in an interview, I think. The lyrics were originally going to be "R-U-4-8-6" but "R-U-4-8-7" sounded better when sung along with the music. Can't remember what rag ran the interview.

Has anyone heard anything about the Chicago date yet? The listing completely disappeared from the venue's site. Gonna be real pissed if it sells out before I even hear about it.

The "Upcoming Shows" page on the Arcada Theater site says details are coming soon.
