I don't like any of the LA X's albums.  A few songs here and there, but I hate a lot of it.  Fuck em.'

Richard Adventure, what's your take on an announcer at the soon-to-be-defunct  Lake Geneva Raceway who's voice sounded just like yours?  What's your take on the fact that he was a "wild-man" who often referenced alcohol, strippers and hookers in his announcing?  What's your take that he's a bald man with a pronounced limp that he makes fun of himself for? What's your take on a a 63-year-old racer named Tom Jones from Illinois coming outta the woodwork to race at the last Lake Geneva race? Is he similar to the singing and swinging Tom Jones that so many middle-aged ladies love?  What's your take on me heading up to La Crosse, WI this weekend for the annual Octoberfest racing weekend at the La Crosse Speedway?  What's your take on the fact that 65-year-old chain smoking, beer-guzzling, coffee-downing  cowboy-boot-wearing motherfucking Dick Trickle will be racing there this weekend?  Richard Adventure, what's your take on the Killdozer tune named "Richard"?

Well, the Birthday Party wins that one.

You can't beat the Australian "swamp" sound.

X (Australian) versus X (Los Angeles)

The Australians win, in my opinion, because Aspirations is one of the best records ever made and the other X often sound like garbage to me.

Discuss.

Music Shit / Argument: The Scientists vs. The Scientists

I'm talking about the early pop-punky Scientists versus the later swamp-noise Scientists.

The swampy Scientists win, in my opinion.

I'm sure Young Young Steve would disagree.

This is obvious baiting for further discussions.

I certainly have nothing against "pretty" and have long needed to own or hear something from this band.

Hell, as long as they are they are a slight bit "spacey" I might dig it alot...

Anybody here like F/i (Milwaukee space-rock outfit)?

Music Shit / Re: What is the rarest release you actually possess?
« on: October 03, 2006, 08:25:33 PM »
I really don't know how to compete with you fucking collecter scum nerds.

The rare records I own usually fall under the "experimental noise weirdo" category...

Various Artists -  Mannheim Lacht (dunno how rare this German comp is, but it certainly seems rare)

Boy Dirt Car vinyl box set on RRR records (I've got #6 outta 200 copies)

Various Artists - Drastic Perversions (comp featuring Sleep Chamber, Nurse With Wound, etc.)

Um, I've got the original Australian press of The Saints "I'm Stranded" LP which is the first album I bought while drunk.  I remember arguing with the guy at the store that I deserved more change, but I was drunk and fucked up my math.  I don't know if this is rare or not.  Is this about steak or music?  Fuck if I know...

Devo - "Jocko Homo/Mongoloid" 45 on their own Booji Boy label.  Probably not that rare, but highly valued in my mind.

I've got some rare polka records, too, I think.

I'll think of more later.

It don't cost nuthin'!  However, there will be a donation jug or something.  I don't know if that money goes to the artistes', the gallery or us, but I don't care.  There will be food and alcohol available...

Oh, an it looks like we'll be playing closer to 8 p.m. or thereafter...

So it's come to this...

AluminumKnotEye will prove their art-punk faggotry to an indifferent audience on October 6th...

Bucketworks Art Fag Gallery, Milwaukee, WI
(1319 N Martin Luther King Jr Dr)

Probably at around 7 p.m. or so.

Music Shit / Re: Emo

Paris@2AM was only one many area emo bands, though now that I think of it, most actually came from the Valley and not GB. And yeah, Chuck & Cody 69'd in front of several people. Yikes! The Squish were a good band who shoulda toured....they did play Port Huron w/ Mystery Girls & Tears that one New Years. I'm not sure if there were blowjobs & if so this is why they broke up soon after, you'll have to check with Keith.

No inter-band blowjobs during the Squish that I know of.  Altough, the reason we probably didn't tour is to avoid being orally raped by that sweetie Chuck.  He was always pressing us to play boring ass benefit shows at youth halls and shit like that.  He was in it for the little boys.  Chuck didn't like playing bars (except for maybe gay bars). The rest of us were in it for the beer and ze women and stuff like that.  In fact, hooking up with my fiancee' happened during/after a Squish show, the "There ain't no flowers in rock'n'roll" night so well documented by Blue Balls.

There was many terrible emo bands based in Wisconsin.  Sunday Flood. Managra.  The Promise Ring.  Paris@2am.  And a whole bunch of others...  I hated all of them and they all hated me.  That made me feel special.  Now I'm just a grumpy old cork living in the boonies.  "You damn kids and your loud music.... bah!"
