i mean, how could anyone possibly confuse "the creamers" with "the creamers"

two totally different band names.  you are right.

http://schedule.sxsw.com/events/event_MS15117

This is amazing. Never before in their glorious history have SXSW gotten a detail wrong!

fuck them and fuck you.  their name is exactly the same, if they were called coffee and the creamers and played funk i wouldnt have a point, but they dont have to attempt to pass themselves off as "the creamers" because they have the exact same fucking name as "the creamers".  "the onion band" and "THE ONIONS" are not the same name.

also they stole from a great friend of mine who is practically family and i have known for many, many years, was at my wedding, and has never told me a lie to my knowledge.  they stole from her on her damn birthday so as i said, fuck them.

"Creamers" and "The Creamers" are no more "the exact same fucking name" as "The Onion Band" and "The Onions".

Congratulations on having a friend (and on getting someone to marry you).  That's fascinating stuff and while I'm sure there's no shortage of people who'd like to hear more about it, I'd hope the non-hysterics reading this understand that merely because an accusation is repeated multiple times on the internet, that doesn't make it true.

Fuck me?  Hey, I'm deleting you from my friendster account. Just as soon as I can find my password.

if you are too stupid to recognize the difference between a band that was part of the punk scene, a well known band like the creamers, who were on sympathy and triple x, put out ten or more records, and were around for a solid decade, touring and playing all over the unites states, to "onion band" who play accordion and uke folk music in english taverns, well, if you are really that fucking stupid i dont know why i am wasting my time pointing out the obvious to you.

I'm absolutely certain there's no way you or anyone else could be stupid enough to think the Austin band in question has ever attempted to pass themselves off as the Sympathy/Triple X band or that such confusion would open one single door they'd like to enter.  That you're unwilling to give the former the benefit of the doubt --- the same one you'd likely want for yourself (at least when confronted by one of The Onion Band's half dozen fans) is hardly shocking, but that you'd take to a pair of public forums to malign the character of 4 guys you've never seen or met is kinda malicious.  And stupid.

Naw Dude / Flesh Lights - "Bummer Bitch" split 7" EP (12XU 032-7)

What possible point could be proven by a pair of Austin bands with seemingly little in common daring each other to cover the already done-to-death Freestone exploitation hit, "Bummer Bitch"?   For starters, they've shown how easily you can bully someone into putting out the results when it's 7-on-1. But aside from their very different takes on a song you've either loved (or never wanted to hear again), there's a pair of new Naw Dude songs plus another gem from the Flesh Lights' emerging pop craftsman Max Vandever.   First 100 copies on blue vinyl, ships on or before December 12.  $5 USA + shipping.

if you ordered the new Young Governor 10" or the Carolee 12",  both began shipping this week (they're in stores Nov. 25).

A few of the red vinyl copies of Cruddy's 'Negative World' LP are still available.

mail order copies shipped earlier this week, hopefully everyone will get theirs before 10/25.  A couple of Austin stores should have the LP this weekend (End Of An Ear, Trailer Space), but Cruddy's rec release show at Hotel Vegas Friday night is your best bet if you have trouble with delayed gratification (Flesh Lights, Street Eaters and Dikkk Sexxx & The Weepy Teens are playing as well).

there's some other stuff available for preorder  (http://www.12xu.bigcartel.com)

more Cruddy dates :

Nov 27 - Chattanooga, TN @ Sluggo's North

Nov 29 - Richmond, VA @ Strange Matter

Nov 30 - Philadelphia, PA @ Small Bar

Dec 3 - NYC, NY @ CAKE SHOP NYC

Dec 4 - Buffalo, NY @ Funeral Home

Dec 6 - Cleveland, OH @ Now That's Class

pressed at United I assume if warped.

I was assuming the place outside Austin that seems to be garnering quite a reputation for delivering warped pressings.

I assumed the same but apparently it's the pride of Canoga Park, CA who manufactured these.

Music Shit / Re: Labels that don't keep records in print...

another (occasional) factor ; sometimes the rights to a recording have reverted back to the artist and the original label cannot continue to manufacture new copies (which isn't to say some won't go ahead, anyway...or just wait until someone calls them on it)

I ordered mine about 2 weeks ago and got a copy in the 700's however I would not gauge that on how far they are sold into the box. Its a shwinkwraped package so Im sure the label is just grabbing and mailing them not really keeping them in number order.

You're probably correct.  I ordered mine in July, it turned up last Monday, #1117.  I've an appointment with an anger management counselor later this week to cope with the label printing errors.  They've not actually impacted my enjoyment of the box, I just feel obliged to complain to people who weren't gonna buy it anyway.

Sucks I missed Deaf Wish tho.  I walked into the Circle K and DJ Rick was there like, "well dude...you just missed THE BEST BAND OF THE FEST".  That made me REAL HAPPY RICK.  Hahah!

Hate to rub it in, but not for the first time, Rick is right. Tho' OBN III's, Sex Cult, Royal Headache (way more interesting than the LP) and the Outdoorsmen (AGAIN) could all claim similar status and not be exaggerating (much).

Kitchen's Floor were terrific. I've somehow ended up with a 2nd (sealed) copy of 'Look Forward To Nothing' ; $12ppd if anyone wants it. Otherwise, this will make a terrible birthday present for someone who hates music.

Did 'Too Dead To Notice' ever come out on 12"?

re: Mouthbreathers.  really good last night in Austin prior to A Giant Dog, White Mystery.  when they return, it might not be crowded, but it won't be empty.

In the case of Austin trio CRUDDY, a prior 7", a cassette and a song on the Casual Victim Pile II comp. were barely sufficient warning for a resulting debut LP that stacks up really well alongside 'Fake Train', 'Vs.', or 'Shovel'. Featuring current or not-so-current members of Uppers, Serious Tracers, Total Abuse and Best Fwends (hey, just because something is factually correct doesn't mean it isn't wildly misleading), recorded by The Young's Hans Zimmerman, and includes a cover of the Suicide Commandos' "Burn It Down".

Preorders at http://www.12xu.bigcartel.com ($11)

First 100 copies are on 180 gr. red viny ; the rest on 180 gr. black. All of 'em come with a download code. Persons unmoved by the above blurb can catch Cruddy in action on the following dates :

9/3 - 29th St. Ballroom (with Women In Prison, Rayon Beach, Best Fwends)
9/5 - Club 1808 (with Black Gum)
9/21 - Trailer Space (with Holy Shit!, Recide, Your Pest Band)

MP3 of "Negative World" from the album 'Negative World" ; http://cruddy12xu.bandcamp.com/track/negative-world
