From a translated Wikipedia page: "The group recorded a 45 rpm single purely instrumental, including a dozen pieces in the room University Richard on a tape recorder microphone. For their concerts, members of Liquid Idiot invited viewers to bring their own instruments to participate in the show."

Tracks 19-23 on the Liquid Liquid "Slip in & Out of the Phenomenon" CD comp are Liquid Idiot live tracks. These are not the same as the 7" though. You can hear some audio samples of the live tracks here: http://www.allmusic.com/album/slip-in-and-out-of-phenomenon-mw0000825307

I guess they had another incarnation called "Liquid Idiot Orchestra" that put out one 7" too.

According to Discogs...

"Liquid Liquid were originally a much more punk sounding band called Liquid Idiot who released one 7" before reforming as Liquid Liquid."

Anybody have a copy of this? Can't find audio samples anywhere. Would love to hear it if anyone has it and wants to rip it, etc.

Leather Nightmare is an awesome current Nashville band. They played a Drunks With Guns cover when we played with 'em and play stuff kinda in that vein. Downer rock Flipper-esque but doing their own weird thing with it. Good lyrics too.

X! is pleased to announce the release of a new 7" EP by Detroit's Protomartyr. This is their second release after a debut 7" on Urinal Cake Records. These guys started out great and have earned some die-hard fans over the past year. Drop the needle and dive into the mind of chief singer/ranter Joe Casey and his world of paranoid self-depracation, skewed sentimentality, and baseball. Wiry punk that veers between aggressive and melodic hooks while never losing a driving beat. Live staple "Baseball Bat" leads off the record followed by the smoocher "You're with A Creep". Take a listen to "The Milk Drinkers" (featuring Kevin from Tyvek on extra guitar) and try to get the melody out of your head. Ain't gonna happen. "Psychic Doorbell" finishes out the B-side and leaves ya wanting more. 500 pressed on black vinyl.

Haha, no it wasn't an insult at all. It would have been awesome to play with you guys! You just happened to be the only band I had ever heard of being from Lawrence and I already knew you weren't really playing anymore. Was just trying to find out if there are any other good bands to talk to in Lawrence. Are there?
